And now in the news…
In what chiropractors across North America are calling an epidemic of pandemic proportions, millions of young male drivers are developing chronic back and left wrist pain from having to drive cars with broken drivers’ seats.
“We’re really concerned about the long term health of these patients”, said Dr. Kyphosis, head of spinal research at Rice University in Houston. “We expect to see a dramitic increase in posture related diseases in about 8-10 years as these patients age.”
Apparently, the seat back adjustment mechanism on Honda Civics, Accords and Preludes are faulty thereby forcing the drivers to operate their vehicles for extended periods of time in a position best described as ‘hanging off the steering wheel by their left wrist’.
Government offiicials have asked Honda Motor Corporation to recall millions of cars to fix the problem. So far Honda has refused the recall citing no reliable research that indicates it is their engineering that is the problem.
A source at Honda cited an internal memo from the engineering department which leads this reporter to belive that Honda would recall the cars if it could determine with certaintly is it their design that is at fault.
“At first we were going to recall the vehicles right away, but then we looked at the data and we found something quite puzzling”, our source said, “It is only happening to young male drivers…not one female has been afflicted and no other Hondas besides Accords, Civics and Preludes.”
Honda continues to investigate.
In the mean time, if you see a Honda driver that is having to endure this torture, please stop him and show him how to adjust his seat.
