Wrong Way Driver Gets Max Sentence

A judge, not a jury, found Herman Bank of Cortland guilty on eight counts, including manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, driving under the influence of drugs and driving the wrong way.
Friday, Bank was sentenced to five to 15-years for his crimes, by Judge John Connell.
Prosecutors say Bank was high on cocaine when he drove the wrong way on I-590 in May of 2007. His car slammed head on into another, killing two friends, Henry “Alex” Rivera and Pedro Hernandez, and injuring another, Ashley Blier.
They were on their way home after seeing a movie. Pedro and Henry worked together at Wegmans.
Henry was just a month away from high school graduation. His dad still wears Henry’s varsity jacket.
Bank was a pharmacist in Cortland. He told police he had done cocaine with a prostitute in Buffalo before the crash

Were Henry and Pedro friends with each other and in the car that got hit?

Could go either way.
I assume that they were in the other car, because they were in high school and he was a pharmacist, but still. The way it’s written is ambiguous.
doing coke doesn’t make u drive the wrong way on the highway tho…that’s something you’d do when you’re drunk or on some other kind of depressant… don’t u think?

Police: Traveler got on Miami plane using fake badge
Mark Rimkufski, 49, was charged with falsely impersonating a law enforcement officer. He could also face federal charges.
Carrying a ‘‘Fisher Island Chief of Police’’ badge and claiming he was a U.S. air marshal, Mark Rimkufski convinced Miami airline employees to allow him on a flight after the gate had closed, police said.
The ruse landed him in jail, Miami-Dade police said, when he was confronted – by real air marshals on the plane.
Rimkufski, 49, was later charged with falsely impersonating a law enforcement officer. He was scheduled to appear in Miami-Dade court Thursday but did not because he was hospitalized for unspecified reasons.
There is no Fisher Island police department.
Rimkufski, a former island resident who also goes by the name Harry Henry Rimm, also faces a federal charge of impersonating an air marshal. When arrested, he was carrying nearly $14,000 in cash and had plans to travel to Los Angeles, Hawaii and Dubai.
According to Miami-Dade Detective Javier Prellezo’s arrest report, this is what happened:
On Wednesday night, Rimkufski was rushing to Miami International Airport to catch American Airlines Flight 299, bound for Los Angeles. But the gate had already closed and the plane was departing.
He flashed his Fisher Island badge to employees at the ticket counter, announcing he was an air marshal. Employees stopped the plane and allowed him to board.
But real air marshals inspected his badge and booted him from the plane. Why they did not detain him was unclear but the plane went on its way.
Then, Rimkufski went to the Admiral’s Club bar and restaurant and began loudly complaining about not being allowed on the flight.

Dayton Mother Caught Breast Feeding and Driving

KETTERING, Ohio – A Dayton mother is facing charges for breast feeding her daughter while driving her other children to school.
Genine Compton was pulled over by Kettering police Thursday at Far Hills and Dorothy Lane while taking her other children to school.
Police say Comptom could have injured her child and others because she was breast feeding and talking on the cell phone while driving the vehicle.
Compton was issued citations for child endangering and violating the child restraint law. Compton told News Center 7 Friday, “If my child’s hungry, I’m going to feed it.”
Police say it is against the law to drive with a child in your lap. Children under 4 or 40 pounds must be properly restrained in a child safety seat.
In this case, officers said Compton had the child in the lap with the baby’s head up against the steering wheel. They say there is not only the risk of a crash, but deployment of the airbag.
Compton said she will take the advice of the officers into consideration, but she may breast feed her baby while driving in the future if she feels that is is necessary.
She could face up to 180 days in jail and fines for the child endangering citation.
i was going to start another thread about this last post with the breast feeding.
how in the fucking hell can you drive your car and breast feed at the same time. what do you do in your life that you cant take 10 minutes out of your time to even just park and breast feed.

she is taking it into consideration? she should have the kid taken away and her license suspended/taken for good.
I heard the police recording with the guy who called the police. he said he pulled up to the ladies car and asked her what the hell she was doing, she replied with, “you wanna pull your dick out and breast feed them for me.” then drove off.
