Another jerk cop

Saw the story on AOL

Wow. What a prick.

That’s fucked up. What do you do in that situation though? Obviously you don’t slam some woman against the car but what is the police procedure for something like that?

If I were a cop and pulled over a speeding woman on her way to the hospital because a loved one just had a heart attack I’d give her an escort with the lights on to get here there quickly and safely.

But hey why not beat her and throw her in jail instead?

I’m sorry but reading that I can’t help but think roid rage…

she was almost doubling the speed limit. ANY cop would have ticketed her regardless of what she said. and then as hes writing the ticket she just leaves? i understand she was upset but when u get pulled over for doing 60+ in a 35 zone, then bounce on the cop as hes writing the ticket, already infuriated about u being 25+ over the speed limit, what the fuck do u expect to happen?

no real excuse for tossing her around tho, thats just messed up.

Ya he got suspended and all the charges were dropped on her

Right. And maybe give her a ticket afterwards if I was low on my quota.

That wasn’t right.

stupid Hillsborough County…

most of them are asses out there

The cop doesn’t know her father is having a heart attack :bloated:

It seems like a pretty made up excuse to get out of a 25+ mph speeding ticket. Not to mention she bounced on him, while writing the ticket. Regardless of what happened, she did a lot of things wrong aswell.

give escort
make sure its not a lie
give warning. I duuno about a ticket but atleast a stern warning.

this is a topic i have discussed with a friends uncle whom is a police officer and also during my criminal justice class with a cop it is their job to use their discretion

if this woman is visably shaken an from the description wasnt making it appear to be a lie ,he could have easily let her go furthermore he followed her to the hospital so he knew she wasnt bullshittin him yet he let his ego get in the way, and blatantly used excessive force the law on the books is that force is to be equal to the force of the criminal she used no force therefore he had no justifiale reason to throw her around

id fire his ass

its a hospital. ppl probably come in speeding all the time because of emergencies. does that mean that they are supposed to excuse every person who is having a family medical emergency? no, its bs and its not an excuse to almost double the limit.

going 25+ over in a 35 is asking for an accident. especially when u are emotional and probably not paying attention to the road as much as u should be.

she was in the wrong just as much as he was.

Dude, just because you’re a CJ major…doesn’t mean jack shit. First off you’re talking about NY state Penal codes and certain departments
“Justifiable Force” policies…not Florida’s.

Secondly, the force doesn’t have to be equal to. :bloated: You are allowed to utilize force found “one step” higher on the ranks of deadly force. You use a knife, I use a gun. You use your fists, I use my tazer.

if you stop commiting to afrank45 he might leave

well that is all fine and dandy except she used the sit in my car force and he used the toss her around force. you are 100% correct in everything you said but force cannot be used if the criminal uses no force at all she was wrong for leaving the traffic stop but tossing her ass around and saying well now you arent going to see him thus verifying that he believed her but still arresting her to prove a point. come on you know thats over the top

i watched it…
no escort, unless he’s in the car.

people are not trust worthy.

if he is actually having a heart attack at the hospital, does she
seriously think she will get to see him while they are working on him.

she is in a big hurry to sit in a waiting room and worry.

edit: she drove off…
after that how can he afford to leave her in the car.

she is a victom of her own circumstances.
how is this different than a 15 mile chase?

No she used the “pull over, then take off…then take my foot off the brake when he has me get out of my car” force. If you had any legitimate reason to believe that as a criminal justice major, you’d make a good cop…you are wrong. He did what any cop who had to deal with this bullshit would do. Especially because when she was told to get out of the car, and the car started to move…in that split second, what was he supposed to think? Any rational person at that exact moment, would think she was trying to flee AGAIN.

I know any of us would do anything to go see a potentially dying family member, but doubling the speed limit and possibly causing an accident to innocent motorist should NOT be tolerated. I’'d fuckin flip if someone killed my family member while breaking the law to see theirs. Theres’s no lights on her car. Asking for an escort at the time of being pulled over is a given. Speeding off is flat out stupid. The officer should not have used excessive force, the woman should not have used excessive behavior. Glad her dad is doing well.

Wow are you wrong on that. Force, within reason, to apprehend the individual who is failing to cooperate is allowable. If he went through procedure to detain the individual and still received no cooperation then what do you expect the officer to do? I do not agree with the officer “slamming her on the hood” but force is needed in almost all cases where non compliance occurs.

What school did you go to to learn this?
