This is not an advertisement, I’m just passing along info that I came upon.

Has anyone ever been to this event before? I’m interested in the lapping evening or day thing, sounds pretty fun!

Hello everybody,

A new season is here. I have a few new programs this year as well as the regular lapping events.

Please give me a call if you have any questions.

Thanks

Jay

Track Techniques Inc.

A High Performance Driving School

Thank you for your interest in the Track Techniques High Performance Driving School. This Advanced Driver Education program is designed to make each one of us who participate, into better and safer drivers! It will afford you the opportunity to learn about car control in a safe environment, and experience high performance driving in its purest form. It is designed so that you acquire new driving techniques in a progressive, organized manner with close expert supervision. You will have the opportunity to drive your own car and to gain an understanding of your vehicle’s unique handling characteristics while developing a new found respect for your car. People of all skill levels have attended my events for a variety of reasons and refined or developed new driving techniques regardless of their previous abilities. And of course, the key goal of this school is for the participant to have an enjoyable experience while becoming a better, safer and more confident driver.

Below is an overview of the Advanced Driver Education Program as it occurs over the course of three evenings.

The Classroom normally runs from approximately 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM with the South End and Full Track evenings going from approximately 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Evening # 1 Classroom
The classroom will be approximately 2 hours long and cover the theory of high performance driving.

The main focus will be on safety and an understanding of the buzzwords and techniques we use on the racetrack. The classroom also gives us an excellent opportunity to relate High Performance techniques back to our everyday street driving such as seating position, correct use of mirrors, braking and cornering techniques.

Evening # 2 South End
The second evening will be on the south end of the road course from 5 pm to 9 pm.

We will introduce and work on:

     Vehicle Control

     Heel & Toe Downshifting

     Braking/Correct use of ABS systems

     Accident Avoidance

     Cornering and line interpretation

Weight transfer and the effects on vehicle dynamics

How to identify and understand the work zone of a corner

Throttle steer and maintaining the balance of the car

Understanding early and late apex corners

Evening # 3 Full Track
On the third evening we will introduce the full road course and continue with the skills from evening # 2

The main focus for the third evening will be:

     Cornering and line interpretation

Understanding Weight transfer and the effects of vehicle dynamics with increased speed.

Becoming more efficient in the work zone.

Throttle steer and maintaining the balance of the car

Also included is a High Performance driving manual, and the use of a helmet. After finishing a 3-day program the graduate will have an opportunity to take part in lapping events on the full 3.2 km Road Course at Race City Motorsport Park.

Some of the different programs Track Techniques will be running over the next few months include:

An Introduction to High Performance Driving (a two evening course Classroom and South End)

Oh…if only I lived in Calgary and didn’t work construction.

Thanks for the info. I’ll beat on my cooling system for a few days first, If it can stand up, I should register.

Yeah my buddy and I really want to see what this car can do on the track. Maybe it’ll make up for my shitty driving skills :stuck_out_tongue: I have no track experience, so I definitely have room to improve.

thats the best learning attitude… good luck but dont beat on it too hard plz, seems like quite a few nightliners already started blowing up, we dont need more going down from the necc line up :\

Oh don’t worry, I’m gonna be anal about the preventative maintenance. I already have a huge shopping list… I’ll be poor, but happy

That’s the key. Most people just want to modify, but a reliable car is a wonderful thing.

It’s the ONLY thing. Without it, your car becomes a trailer queen, and no one wants to see that.

No doubt. Cooling problems have kept me in the garage.

Better in the garage than on the side of the road with your hazards on

You got that right!

That’s why I’m considering a few more cooling upgrades for this summer, so when I run the car hard I have some backup!
