How can I test n20/fuel solenoids?

well… i have the Zex wet shot solenoid box…

N20 solenoid seems fine… opens like i figure it should.
Fuel Solenoid does not

test setup:
2 power supplies.
pressure controller (mensor up to 1k psig)

1st power supply can support 7 amps (not the 10 stated in Zex insturctions)
2nd P.S. variable to simulate throttle position sensor.

1st apply pressure (500 tested on N20 port)
2nd, rais signal voltage.
3rd. air vents through solenoid box.

repeat for fuel w/ 50 psi.
no venting.

Is there something wrong with my test?
I have a 25 amp p.s @ home i can bring in… but i will have to wait till tomorrow…

any ideas?

Is 50 psi too much pressure? I don’t know so I’m just asking if you are sure that that’s the pressure the valve will see.

I’m having the same problem with one of my oxygen generators at work. :stuck_out_tongue: Nobody can figure out why it won’t open, until I checked the spec and a valve that’s spec’d at 7 psi max differential is installed where it will see a 60 psi differential. :ham:

It requires 35 psi as a minimum fuel pressure.

my car is ~50 or so at idle. 55 @ WOT.

today, i’ll try a p.s that can deal with 10 amps, and maybe a water pump to get to 50 psi. should air vs liquid matter with a solenoid?

edit:
a different P.S. opens both solenoids.
not sure if it was a ground loop, or if the lab p.s was not able to deal with the current. the 25 amp p.s. appears to draw the same current, but the voltage does not drop off lik eit was apparently doing on lab supplies
