Get a late model paved car and hit as many ARCA and Hooters pro cup races as possible. Get much seat time. Look good to sponsers. Rub shoulders with other racers with sponsers. Eventually not run any local late model races just ARCA and pro cup, with the here and there appearence in a Busch race. The most important thing is to have money. Or know somone who does. I almost took a job with a team that ran a partial busch schedule. The owner said the tire bill for a weekend was like 12,000.
