Looking for small business owners

A friend of mine is into pure stock racing at the valley and I am looking to get into it along with him. I am going to be starting off in the 4 cyl. class for a while so I can get used to racing and the track. However, I cannot do anything unless I can get some sponsors. Therefore I am looking for some small businesses that would be interested in sponsoring me. As far as amounts, I was thinking of doing a package type deal but I’ve never done sponsorships before so if it seems too high or too complicated, Im willing to negotiate. I just have to make sure I can get enough sponsors before I do anything.
I will also need a graphics sponsorship basically just doing the graphics for the car during the season (replacing decals that are damaged). I would like to also get a sponsorship for the metal/metal work (roll cage being a big one) as well as motor work.
Again, I am just starting off, so nothing is set into stone yet, and I am negotiable… however I will not be doing anything until I have enough sponsors that are 100% in before I do anything.
Please let me know if you are, or know someone who is interested… or if you have feedback.
Thanks

Kenny

So basically you’re just looking for someone to throw money at you and a car in hopes that just maybe you’ll stick with it and be good in order to have as little of your own cash in the startup as possible? Don’t we all wish it was that easy.

no, I am looking to get into it and its called advertisement. I dont have a whole lot of money to throw at it no, but I wont be making anything either. I also know that most of the racers there dont put a lot of their own money into the cars either. The sponsors basically own the cars for the advertisement and they drive for the sponsors.

Its not like Im looking at Nascar with millions of dollars, its dirt racing and its cheap… so with multiple sponsors, the cost for each is lower. What I have posted is just a jumping off point… I have no clue what the normal sponsorship is.

I’m just saying, you generally have to build a car, get a few races in, see how you do, then go looking for sponsors and shit. You’re probably not going to get sponsors who will pay you, you’ll get joe schmo who says he’ll weld ya up a cage if you spray paint his shop’s name all over your car.

that would be fine for everything but the cage… lol

Contenplating sponsering:

Would have to be a HUGE “Obama is a Socialist” on the hood… that type of thing.

Ill think about it

Sponsors dont care about your car or you, they care about how many people will see their ad and the audience demographic.

+1

You should also try looking at people you do business with. Who does your insurance or your taxes, are they locally owned? Maybe for the all business you’ve kicked them over the years, they could return a favor.

Most cases though, I think you need to get a couple of races under your belt, see if it is something you enjoy doing and do somewhat well, then try hunting for sponsors.

i figured it would be a shot in the dark. I’ve never had a sponsorship so I really have no idea how it works. Just trying to get some info and maybe lucky… lol

im also just going by what the guy I know does and his sponsorships. Which are just basically they give him money to put their name on his car. But he does have a few years under his belt where-as Im just starting out. Thanks for the info guys (and for the minimal flaming… lol)

good luck i just got done putting mine back together

would not be worth it for me, sorry brother. good luck racing, though.

How much to put a huge “Brian Seitz likes the cock” banner on your car?

PM with details.

hey its fucking hard to get sponsors i have been doing it for years as a hobbie b4 i raced i used to make resume up for our drivers modified, prostock, purestocks. when i started racing it was harder all i had behind me was a bunch of gocart racing wins and i was 15 i went from purestock to prostock in 3 seasons and finished 2nd in points over the years it has got alot harder with the way $ is now look ware i am. my career has been put on hold untill i move to nc. not the mention theres alot of risk invloved on the sposors side.Your best bet is scrape a car together build your name as a respected racer and hope for the best remember the only way to make a small fourtain in racing is start with a big one. Racing is the best feeling in the world but after a year you will see your eating cracker for meals lol and if your cars wreaked you will have nothing to show for all that $ & work. good luck if i can help with any question let me know.
(build a resume) you have to make the buisness see that they will have a return on there investment. sponsors are alot of work you are there bitch do what they say when they say work on advertising there name at all times if they dont get feedback your history. most sponsors will only give you very little $ at first to test u . just a idea dont put $ amount that you want talk to the people and see what they offer.

(ps get a profesional to look over your resume i always have to.i suck at spelling lol)

lol lolololoolololololololol
the only driver at lv that dont put $ in his car is bret hern gable motorsports own it dude theres not shit for sponsors in dirt move to asphalt arca series thats what my next goal is.

if ur looking for 1200 a yr for a 4 cly. ur nuts theres slim to anyone that wants to sponsor an enduro car… if ur lucky u may get a garage but no where nears 1200 bucks just for a hood spot… i pay for everything for my civic… biggest thing is gas for ur truck and for the race car, tires get from a junkyard there gonna get beat to shit anyways…im not tryin to down u tryin, more power to u dude! sent shit to garages around down there and from where your from… that will be ur best bet with a 4 banger… shoot me a pm if u need help with the car or what not. ive been around dirt since i was in diapers

there is money in dirt if u can run and can afford to run a modfied…theres alot more guys then brett that dont put a dime into their car at the valley. theres a slim amount of guys around here any more that will run there own team and pay for anything

Not just modifieds… In a Pro Stock, SPortsmen, IMCA, Modified class there is money to be made if you have skill… not a lot but enough to keep the car going and some money in your pocket.

but street stocks/4 bangers etc… pretty much is just a way to get some good seatime in and get noticed. If you have the money to do it for a hobby power to you but dont exspect making money/getting sponsors to move up is going to be easy

:facepalm
