What if... ? NASCAR

What if a personal friend of yours has a connection with a NASCAR team owner and mentions your name while watching a race from their pits. The team owner tells your friend “Let’s get together, talk and possibly put them in a car to see if they have what it takes.”

It’s not Sprint Cup, but the class right below, Nationwide.

Would you go and see if you have what it takes? If you truly believed you could do it, would you even consider quitting your job to pursue a career in the spot light, becoming a full time driver?

It would involve travel, hard work, dedication and finding sponsors to keep you in a car. Would you go meet with the owner, knowing how hard it is to make it?

yes

Yap.
and risking your life as well.

yep yep yep.

be prepared to hear things like “fall back 10 spots so we can get an edge next week for the manufacture”

Ask Chuck Hossfeld about that, when he drove the roush truck after winning everything under the sun in an asphalt modified.

Mos Def

ya, where do I sign up?

100% agree unless your job now is like your dream job

Also can I sponsor you so I can get into the pit area !?!?!?!!?!?!??!?!

So I haven’t even had the interview and already I have a sponsor? I will be glad to bring that up, as well as get you into the pits.

you’d be dumb not to.

that would be my dream job.

Sure!

One 3" x 10" sticker on the side for $5,000 per race.

Still game?

You’d be dumb to leave your job. I’ll tell you right now. you don’t have what it takes.

You aren’t a good driver at all compared to the million other prospects out there in the world, that have racing experience, and lots of time on the track.

Thanks Mr. Buzzkill. Or, shall we call you Buzz Killington? LOL

If you have been doing circle track racing for years then yes. If you beat on your street car and think your a good driver no you would be an idiot.

Yes, I would go and see if I have what it takes.

No, I don’t think this is actually going to happen.

That depends, is it a team like Hendrick where you actually have a competitive car and a chance to win big, or some broke dick team that runs 5 laps and your shit blows up?

You know they don’t have auto’s to heal toe

If you, the driver, need to bring sponsors to the table, you are dealing with a very small budget race team and most likely wasting your time.

Although unlikely, it is possible to be a walk on driving sensation. (i.e. Denny Hamlin)

I’d take the chance in a heartbeat

Nascar do not have autos how will you heal toe?
