How heat sensitive are LCD's

just mount it on the ceiling and make everyone lay down

I had LCD touch screens in a machine that got installed in a lot of garages at my last job. Above 105F ambient they would start to wash out white. Never really got bothersome till about 120F. Below around 55*F ambient they would start to get dark.

Can you start a fire and mount a thermometer above the fireplace? See how hot it gets? If it doesn’t go much above 100 you’ll be fine.

90-100 is fine for a lcd, just try and keep it below 150+… thats not cool. They do get hot, and im sure the hotter they run the quicker they will go, but in 5 years are you going to care anyways? Everyone will have a better tv than you and you are going to want a new one…
