How hot do brake parts get??

Just curious how hot brakes CAN get? Specifically referring to my S-10. Drums in the rear, 4.3 ext cab (heavier of the s-10s) Above 800 degrees? Just wondering if I should use POR15 on my rotors/calipers and drums. The documentation says its good to 800 degrees. I don’t plan to do alot of major, continuous braking… but how hot??

The rotors can get up around 1000 or so depending on your pads, 800 degree paint should be ok for calipers and the like (you’re not boling the fluid, (400degrees) right?). Plus POR-15 is some pretty tough stuff.
