how important is a smooth short side radius on the exhaust side?

I finished the intake side of the rb head. Its not the smoothest thing ever. you can feel some lumps (basically knocked off the flash and hit it all with 80 grit) but i blended the bowls well enough, and the short sid is a tiny bit “kinky”, but there are no steps…

However… the exhaust side… there is very little room to work with. Thus, on the short side radius, there is a ridge that feels similar to running your finger across one ridge of a hexagonal pencil… it is much better than it was… but the only way i am going to get it any better is to do it by hand. Twelve ports = alot of time. I am going to polish up the runners as best i can.

It is a pita doing this with the valve guides installed… I put them in before i decided to fuck with the casting…

you’ll be fine … the only way youd notice a difference is on a dyno with the conditions EXACTLY the same for a before and after dyno run

but considering youll never get matching dyno runs back to back with the SAME combo anyways … screw it, leave it like it is

Newman, like anyone can even know that.

haha, WHAT! Steak? word.
