How long do you wait?

BEFORE ANSWERING: The question is based on the assumption that you made an appointment to see your regular doctor for a non-emergency medical issue.

I made this poll because I had to wait TWO fucking hours to see my doctor. I made an appointment (several weeks in advance) yet I still had to sit and read disease-ridden Car and Drivers introducing the new twin turbo Z32 300zx for two precious hours of my life.

I know that we have thrown a rediculous amount of our money at healthcare and the system as we know it us entirely unsustainable. I know that throwing more money into the system is just like throwing money into a rusty S13 with banged up quarter panels and a lime green paint job done with a roller – it’s a waste.

So I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem. If I have to wait two hours to see a doctor for five minutes, I better not be the only sucker having to suffer.

What are your wait times like?

well i went in to ask for a blood test and i was a walk in. luckly i went to a clinic where my gf knows the receptionist, so i got bumped to the front hehe. i was also only in there for 5 min.

but this other time i went as a walk in, i chipped my bone snowboarding, so i went in to get checked. then i had to come back with the xrays, i had to wait 1 hr to get in just to show him the xrays, it was retarted. i hate the doc. way too slow!!!

Ouch.

The 15-30 one.

my doc is good. He books one paitent every 20 mins, and ushally I wait 5-10 mins…but its been forever scince I’ve been to a doctor.

Whats a doctor?

Zing!

i haven’t seen my family doc in 10+ years because I have to “book” in advance. 6 fucking months in advance.
Fuck that.
I work at a hospital, and I work with the docs and nurses. I’ve never waited to see one.

My doc takes about 10 mins to see me when i go in.

normal check-ups are booked about 3 months in advance but i can call and say its urgent adn i get in within a couple days

15-30 minutes for regular check-up

1-2 hours or however long it takes for the overnight swap.

My sister works at a clinic in red deer. The reason the wait times in those clinics are so long is because of all the loser hypochondriacs that go to the doctor when they have a cold(Not all bugs need drugs) or just want some attention because no one loves them.

i am waiting about 30-60 min when i have an appointment. I once waited 4 hours becuase there were 3 emergencies that came in. sorry but if your head is cracked open and bleeding, go to the hospital, not your family doctor. she is the most popular doctor in Sh Pk so i know she is busy. she hasnt taken new patients in about 5 years.

Hmmm. Dr. Farrell?

only one doctor to see in Sherwood Parks.

and thats Jim motherfucking Adams himself.

Yuppers. Good guy…Heys funny and knows his shit…especially sports related injurys

yup, been seeing her for about 16-17 years so i am not going to change

Yeah, I’ve been seeing her for almost 20 years now, but after that last visit I really want to change. If only she wasn’t so good.

werd. Anyone that plays any competitive sport from amateur to professional, he is the man for you.

my dads regular doctor is Dr. Daniels at the medi-center. he doesnt make an appointment, he just goes in during off-peak hours. he is really happy with him.

besides the family doctor part, i just had to rant that, i remember when i dislocated my shoulder and had to wait in the waiting room at the hospital for 5.5 hours because it wasn’t priority (i know people are dying and such but at least give me painkillers!), worst experience ever
