How much of a bitch will it be...

to change the brake shoes on the rear of my 87 Blazer? I’ve done it before, but it was about 3 or 4 years ago. Time it will take on each side, how much of a bitch it will be, etc…?

Thanks

ez,do one side at a time,so u have something to look at if u for get!

x2.!

Easy job. Have done em in about 1-2 minutes a side. Not including lifting the car and taking tires off, and replacing tires…

simple do like pewter said won’t be a prob.

Cool, thanks guys… Gotta replace the brakes so I have enough shoe to stop that v8 :kekegay:

if it was closer to the time when you were coming to pick up the puppy, i would have done it for you or at least supervised to make sure it was right

who’s going to supervised u? :moon:

It shouldn’t be crazy hard. I just know that it tends to be a bitch, but I can’t remember exactly how to do it from doin it a couple years ago…

oh well, its not my daily driver, if it takes me a day to do it off and on, no biggie… just the idea to do 1 side at a time and keep an eye on the other side will help

Change the bulb fluid while u have those back wheels off

:hahano:

its all just springs and levers. I just had mine apart a week or so ago to change the pads (since its a PITA with my adapters) and ‘shaved’ the e-brake cable.

 I shaved my ebrake cable a long time ago, hahaha

I wanted to keep the ebrake origionally for inspection reasons and what not but JS talked me out of it. He reminded me I have 2 ebrakes available already… LEFT side down and RIGHT side down, haha. I can just use my frame rails as brake pads. :burnout:

If you have a digital camera you might want to take a pic before you remove the springs, shoes, etc., to make sure you get everything back on the same way. Also pay attention to which shoe is the primary and which is the secondary.

fdrumbrakes.
