So over the last couple weeks I have slowly been workin on putting some s14 rears into my coupe. I did a lot of research before, but found absolutely no information on how to do this into a coupe. Only thing I found was that people were having problems doing it. This is how I did it, and I think it looks a lot better then what it looks like on the other “how to” threads.
The first thing that I did was try to make the bracket that they show you to make on all the other how to threads. With the 4 inch piece of metal and just extending your original s13 seat brackets.
When I was done the bracket, I installed the rear fold down seat. The top of the seat came right up flush with the rear sil in the back on the coupe.
I thought that this looked good, till I had to try and install the bottom seat and it didn’t want to fit. I figured this was because the top part was sitting way to low. I had to make new brackets from scratch so I could raise the back seat up just a tad. These are the brackets that I came up with. I also painted them black so they blend in a bit better.
I took the top seat out again, so I could put some carpet down behind the brackets. This way it looks a lot cleaner and you wont be able to see the metal since the s14 rears are skinnier at the bottom
I then tried installing the top piece again and it came out looking as if it was stock
After I had the top piece all figured out I started on the bottom. I took some foam from my old s13 seats and filled in the 2 bigger holes near the front of the s14 seat. When I test fitted the middle of the seat it felt really squishy and it just didn’t feel right. So I took some padding from underneath the carpet that I swapped out to fill in the middle of the seat.
I used the same method as other people and pulled the rear seat into place with a rope and bolted the bottoms into place. This is the final look of the seats.
