I’d say thats a success huh! We did a mad dash (no pun intended) to get the dash in before we drove it over to brads house. The rain was coming, then it got there, and we didn’t even have time to bolt in the seat. Thats OK though, the luxury of living in a city where everything is close to everything else

did I see this thing on sweethome drive earlier today by any chance? I saw an FD and thought I heard a little rumble behind it.
Nope. It’s driven ~3 miles and that was in Rochester. Update coming soon though.
Well, I have “new” tires all around. 255/40/17 Michelin Pilot SX for the rears and 235/45/17 Advan A046 for the fronts. I definitely think next time around I’ll be going with a 265 or 275 rear, just because it should fit the wheel better. We had a bit of a tough time getting the skinny 255s to take a bead.
The car has now moved again, temporarily though. It’s in a friend’s garage which has been great, since no direct sunlight = happy me. I think it’s nearly to the point where it can be mobile, save for the high chance of being ticketed if I drive it anywhere…
We bled the cooling system today, which was a total pain, since there is no bleeder at the high point of the cooling system.
I also fixed my fan relay, since apparently the LS1 PCM grounds the relay lead. I wired my relay in under the impression that it provided a positive turn-on. Easy fix though.
I also fixed the stupid low coolant light. All that took was grounding the correct wire.
So, I think the car should be ok to drive now. I feel pretty confident in it. I just need to start tracking down issues. Leaks are definitely on my mind. Hopefully there won’t be many.

Buy my azenis, they’re plenty wide, 10.3" for the 255…
Anyway, sounds awesome, you guys going to be around working on it? I wanna stop by and check it out…
We’ll be working on it today, but not at Mark’s. It should be back there mid-week.
So, I got a bit more done last night. I’ve decided that I won’t be taking the car to the USGP this weekend, since It’d be an absolute mad rush to get it there. I still stand by the notion that I could have done it, but it obviously is a bad idea at this point in time. I’d rather take my time and finish the car right than rush and risk breaking down or breaking some major components. So, with that said, I’m on a bit more relaxed work schedule. I took the day off on Monday even!
I’m not sure where I left off, but after hours and hours of work, the cooling system should be working fine.
Fixed my fan relay wiring (PCM provides ground, not the positive I was expecting).
Fixed the headlight pop-up (forgot a combined chassis ground up front). I still need to look into why they don’t light up, but I assume that’s just bulbs.
Changed out the diff oil.
The stuff that came out was likely the original fluid, judging by the incredible stink, the fact that the fill and drain were not overtorqued and also the amount of gunk that was on the magnetic drain plug. Not enough to be worried about the condition of the diff though. Torsen (Quaife-style) diffs just tend to put a lot of goopy stuff on the drain plug. I had maybe half as much goop on my S2000 diff plug when I changed the fluid at ~28k miles, so I’m taking this as a sign of relatively good health for the diff. For the record, I used Mobil 1 75w-90 oil. Nothin’ fancy. If I planned on keeping the car that long, I’d change it out again around 20-30k miles from now.
Oh yeah, I also got a sticker. Pictures to come soon.
Sounds like progress is almost done Brent congrats! Can’t wait to see it!
TORETTO!
but on a serrious note, it looks amazing. keep up the good work
I has a sticker.

Still have to fix the hood, though.
I did fix it. With a hammer.
