The problem with this forum now is the large number of automotive enthusiasts who have nothing to do with cars and only post OT shit.
LOL, you actually brag about going through that much time and effort to troll a local automotive forum? You really have that sad of a life? We read your posts, say “wow, that kid sucks”, and forget about you a minute later.
it literaly takes no time. Its worth the laughs. The internet is boring, so when I’m online updating builds and working with sponsors / anwsering tons of tech questions for people on forums I actual pride in being a part of. I spend the odd few minutes with this forum open, just to make everyone who logs on spend thier time responding. The time I spend trolling as one person dosent touch the time spent replying to it wasted by 20 + people multiple times a day.
Also it gives me something to do while working online, same reason most people post from work. Well except that I do the majority of my work from home, drinking coffee, blasting music.

Maybe it is that the core group of people who started this site, back to the ubrf days are graduated from college, and focus has moved onto other things. Family, houses, etc. At least that is the case for me. I long ago sold my hot rods and toys, and bought a house, and turned focus to other things. I still come on here to waste time and look around, but I barely even change my own oil anymore. I suspect as the weather gets worse, people will be looking on here to waste more time and cause more trouble.

They want high dollar and flashy cnc cut shit, or turbos, which makes no sense considering the majority of the forum is pretty poor, you’d think they would be more of a fan of lower dollar garage built builds.

LZ - Jam wrenches on VWs, has helped me work on cars, done autoX, goes to meets - I’d say it’s automotive related stuff.
As a general newbie here, this is my impression of the site. There are areas of the site, and people who post there, dedicated to useful vehicular info. and knowledge. This site has other areas set up for other topics and I like that as well. It’s nice to have that multi-faceted dimension as I have other interests besides cars, bikes, etc. It also seems to be populated with people from the WNY area. I think Josh does a good job and puts in a lot if work for the site and events / meetings it generates. I don’t know Bing personally so I cannot speak of him. I don’t think anyone is living in the Florida Keyes from any revenue made off this site.
My take is, if you want to read the drama posts, do it. I admit some can be entertaining. Keep the serious informative posts clear of the BS so it can have a place just like the drama. You’ll never have a site where everyone gets along or one without posters using it for their own personal desires (antagonizing for responses, creating tension, whatever) It’s up to the users to make it what it is and take from it what they want.
