This will definitely be my next phone, that thing is sick!
Looks like Sept 2nd for sprint.
Wait a sec… does this have 3G?
what they dont tell you is that the browser is still IE 5 regardless if the operating system is windows mobile 5 or 6 or 6.1… and it sucks nutsack…i had the at&t slider made by htc… great phone just really shitty software. this was only a couple of months ago and microsoft has yet to come up with a newer version of their mobil browser…
microsoft needs to step it up a knotch in the internet department… its bad enough you cant download mobil versions of flash or quick time to view some web sites that require it… but the browser technology is so god damn old its pathetic…
in any case make sure you view the version number of the browser before you leave the store…its possable there is a newer version but last i knew it was still the old version 5
i use (used) opera mobile for my phone, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than IE 5 mobile !
BUT what i see in the video is zooming, and IE doesnt zoom in realtime like that, its either fit to screen, desktop, 1 column
SO im thinking possibly it has some different updates or something, who knows
there seems ot be a shit load of custom 3d apps from HTC on this phone, like viewing contacts and playing music, cuz we all know the traditional contacts/media player/ photo gallery on windows mobile…dick for the most part
have you used 6.1 yet? i had 6 only…
i dont care wats on the phone when i leave the store cuz its all getting erased anyways yano…
@ ninetyonetwo
yea it supports 3g ofc , the iphone didnt because of software restrictions so they felt the need to make it a big deal they added 3g support lol…
OH ya there is also a youtube button/app on that phone… which is making me wonder… flash support finally? because the only way i was able to watch youtube on windows based phones was through the use of VTAP which is/was an AWESOME program, not only did it search and play vids from youtube but hundereds or thousands of other video sites also !! like break.com and shit like that !
ok check it out
the phones come with opera (nice i dont have to buy it again :D)
Other features seem to be similar to the GSM model and identical for both, including 2.8” VGA display, 3.2MP autofocus camera, TouchFLO 3D, Opera browser and YouTube client.
ps. if u read that info on the lnik , lol sucks for verizon users, half the ram, slower cpu, no accelerometer and no alum casing oh well
And a youtube client is shown also
that explains alot
so dont worry about IE 5 mobile, apparently it sucks enough to where they are releasing the phones with opera LOL
i have 6.1 on my mogul now… the only difference that i can see is threaded sms.
in case you are wondering, i am running no2chem’s 5067 rom that i cooked myself in the kitchen.
let me know if you need a hand with anything. i’m not great, but i can muddle through the shit
sounds good man, i might wanna cook a rom myself for the touch pro when i have it in october that is…
I had 6.0 on my mogul and i installed 3d party threaded sms, cant live without threaded sms vs the traditional sms from M$
6.0 and 6.1 the diffrence is a few bug fixes and i think another skin or two to use on the desktop… the core diffrences are like compairing windows 2000 pro to windows xp under the skin its the same core it just looks a wee bit diffrent.
as far as the flash goes… iphone has built in youtube as well however if you try to go to redtube.com the video does not play and most of those are some kind of flash embeded file, so somwhere theres an issue with the flash… and it was the same thing with the htc unit i had before i could get the sites up but couldnt play the movies and there was no version of flash or quicktime to put on a mobil phone yourself,… and like i said i know for a fact that you cant install a full blown version of flash on those phones because i had one and tryed, you can download the install file and you can even run it but it does not install… you can always call them up and ask them about it though. i think they have a number on htc’s web site…, hell you could even just email them and explain what you want out of the phone and ask them if the phone does it or not. and thats good it comes with opera… anything is better then internet exploiter… lol… the mobile version of safari is nice, i just wish i could go to redtube and watch my damn porn lol… sure would make the time at work go buy faster
dude do what i do, get VTAP and it converts the videos from youtube, redtube, every video site u can imagine and plays them in real time
I just snagged a modified Touch Pro/ Diamond Rom that works on the 8925 (Tilt), so far it’s alot easier to navigate without the stylus. But even the Tilt can’t handle the amount of flash graphics the rom has, it slows down a little sometimes.
What have you guys heard about the HTC Dream? I guess it’s going to be running Android. Personally I’d rather run a linux based OS (except for apple) like Android, it just runs so much smoother than Windows. Supposedly we should get some info released to the public in September, possibly a release date.
any links with he HTC dream?
and thats cool shit @ the rom on your tilt
they have android up and working on a mogul too… dunno how functional it is yet… i would much rather have a smoother, faster, non-memory-leaking os instead of a pos windows os.
it sucks for pc’s why woudl it be any different for ppcs?
hahaha yea that is true, i havent even seen andriod yet… any info links? (yea im that lazy/busy to look my self)
I’ve been using Opera on my Tilit now with the new rom, and it’s way better than IE. I’ve used Opera once before maybe a couple years back on my 8125 but the new Opera is sooo much better. If you don’t have Opera on your phones I suggest trying it out. It loads pages faster and it has tabs.
Well I need to make a decision… I can buy this or a Blackberry Bold 9000… =|
That crackberry looks nice, really fast too! I had the curve when it first came out but then picked up the Tilt since I like touch screens.
Depends on what you use the phone for? Personal or Business? IMHO Blackberry’s are the phone/pda for the business professional, besides the Blackberry email services outages it’s the most reliable.
