a buddy of mine was talking about that today at hockey … he lives like a block away from that. he didn’t know anything like how the fire started or what not, all he said was that the cops had his street blocked off and you could smell the shit burning …
you could take out the entire street and that’d be cool with me.
It was the Rich products building…(The factory)
I was driving to my brothers house and and noticed all the cops but i couldnt tell wheter the smoke was coming from outside or inside my car from puFf-PuFf (((cough)))

Flames shot out the windows and clouds of smoke billowed out the door of the Old Keystone Rubber Plant on Niagara Street in Buffalo Saturday night. Neighbor Tony Cuppino: “I’m getting home from work and I wasn’t able to get on the street because everything was blocked off. When I first got here, the back of it went up a little bit, there was about a good 20 foot flame off of it.”
Two-Alarm Fire On Niagara St
The Buffalo Fire Department had their hands full battling a two-alarm fire for over five hours at 1095 Niagara Street in the Queen City late Saturday. 60 firefighters were called to the scene and two were injured, along with a gas company worker. One firefighter suffered a foot injury, and the other injured his shoulder. The gas company worker slipped on the ice.
Division Chief George Coates tells that the fire began around 5pm and “a lot of the building was involved upon arrival”. Officials believe the fire initially began on the second floor, and as of Sunday morning, are still investigating the exact cause.
Fire officials say the building was used for storage and was in poor condition in many areas. It was owned by Alkey Castricone, a Hamburg construction worker. Castricone does not have insurance.
