keeep the job. stay in school. say a year from now they go belly up, according to what you said, you would still get the 40k then. plus youve been working this whole time and your almost done with school. you would have one or two semesters left, youve been banking the money you made the last year, and you got roughly 20k ontop of that. keep workin and save up as much as you can so you dont have to worry when the unfortuneate comes.
Since your still getting 40 k either way I would choose B.Hope it rides out.
Ride it out and play it safe.
depends on the degree. If it’s just some associates degree then option B, not question… if it’s like a BS in info tech or some finance degree that will instantly get you earning a lot more than you make today then I would probably go for option A.
or option C - take the money and go make $75k working as an auto finance guy with no experience, since that’s the going rate in buffalo I read.
lol
it’s not easy to make 40k a year in buffalo without a degree, and your lifestyle will take a serious hit if you have to survive on anything less after being used to making that money.
stay where you are working, continue going to school while doing so, then figure things out when you’re done at school. i have friends who are looking for jobs now and there is practically nothing available in this region right now with the state of the economy, and they’re all graduated right now.
Stay the course.
Like robtC said, it is not easy to make $40k a year in buffalo without a degree.
My siblings with degrees are making less than me and I am still going to school.
CIS with my focus on information technology. I’m in the LAN program.
HAHA yeah I heard about that voucher they are offering. No thanks lol.
Because you can’t get a big chunk of change without NYS getting one. Cause they’ve earned it…
Thanks a lot you guys. I’m on the fence with this. I think the year of living life without work is blurring my vision.
it’s a lot harder to party as a 25 year old than it was as a 18-22 year old, in my opinion at least. you’d have a blast for a week or two then be bored out of your mind
Personally i would grab the 20k and go to school full time and then go work part time. Part time work in whatever field you are going to go to school for to help with experience and build your connections. Unless you really enjoy your job, than stay there.
Also what bing said sounds worth a shot too. See if there are any comparable jobs in the area and leave yours with the cash for the new one. if you are serious about getting into IT i know experience helps your pay in that field I think it would be worth while to take a small pay cut and start working in the industry if possible.
