This is a nightmare for me. My car got pushed to December based on the wheels so based on their recommendation I said take those off I want it faster. They took off the wheels and then said ok, now it is early December instead of mid. So I have to get a change order issued to re add my wheels and just wait it out. They got a black one in with some features that I do not want and without the wheels I want… They are trying real hard to get me to take that, and I may just to have a damn car and be done with this. I really feel like waiting it out, but it costs me a lot of $$ every day I wait.
Basil ford. I can’t really blame them that much though, I feel like they are just not getting all the answers from ford. I will say I have had to call the sales guy out on several lies, but that is only because I am an informed consumer and he is making shit up to try and keep me happy.
We made the decision. She drove the Tiguan and laughed her way home. The edge stays unless I can somehow convince her to drive a land rover which I have been trying unsuccessfully for years.
After all this time dicking around to get a vin and a production date, five days of dealing with Chuck and I have everything that I have been waiting for. Unfortunately getting the wheels I want pushes the delivery out to next year and I just can’t wait that long. I will be using the stock wheels for winter tires and something aftermarket for summer. Production date of Nov. 16th and delivery early December. FINALLY DONE. I must say, buying a special order new car is painful, at this point I would have been wise to just shop for a stock model that is “close enough” oh well.
Overall I have had an OK experience, but the service and promptness from Chuck really reaffirmed that I made the right decision in buying from Basil. Next car I buy will probably not be able to be purchased from Basil, but if I can I will.
