sorry it didnt work out for you. most of the trainers are assholes. i had a problem with a trainer from falcon trucking out of west mifflin. after a few days i was fed up with him not showering. we left on sunday afternoon and on thursday he still didnt shower and was still in his church cloth’s from sunday morning and smelled like shit. it was a few weeks after they caught the d.c sniper and we pulled into the spot were they arrested him and i called my dispatcher and told them the situation and they wasn’t gonna do anything about it so i decided to tell them were we was at and i was going to stab this guy and throw his body in the woods and drive the truck back to pittsburgh. after that they were persuaded to let me dead head from there to pittsburgh and get out of the truck were a week later i got a great trainer that was about to retire. when i pulled out and explained we were going home to pittsburgh the asshole trainer objected till he realized that i had an 8 inch knife in my hand and i had the keys. i shifted the truck that way the whole way and would’nt even stop to let him piss.i turned on a jackyl tape i had with me and turned it up the whole way so i couldnt hear him talk. in breezewood he said will you please pull over so i can pee. i said if you get out im leaving you. i didnt hear another work to west mifflin from him. after a few weeks i quit the company altogether. when tom vito did my taxes that year i had 10 companies worth of forms. i would never go with a trainer again. i would however go into training. allstate ask me if i would teach for them but im happy were im at now.
I called transam explained the whole entire situation again. Talked to the head of fleet managers and the head of recruiting. They assured me he will be fired and since his truck payments are 6 weeks lasped, there repoing the truck. ( he was a lease operator through them :rolleyes: )
They offered me a plane ticket to go back to Olathe, Kansas and just only have 1 week of training. I declined everything, Monday returning to US Xpress and try and get the OTR. My fleet manager is a cool dude and very reasonable. Although Night dispatch is crap.
You should go to all-state, that job would be a cushy position if you have Patience
20 hours a week and then 10hours a day saturday and sunday.
which would suck the way scheduling is.
What tri axle company you work for ?
i drive for mikel trucking in west newton right now. tri axl work is the best.i asphalt in the summer at a rate of 17 per hour and i get paid an hour of travel time and i haul stone to the asphalt plat for 33 dollars. so basically i get 50 dollars the first 2 hours and 17 after that… i worked 7 months this past year may - dec and took off the last 2 weeks of dec and a week at thankgiving and still made 20,000 and i worked the other 6 months at a different company plus i collect unemployment partially in the winter. basically 35 to 40 grand a year.
and the best thing about it is, your home EVERY night.
the best part is those days when im on hold at the plant. i get paid to sleep. i also have a dvd player in my truck if im not tired. and im home usually by 5 pm.
