I hate lazy people...

I’ve had shitty dealings with that Goodyear. Paid for a “four wheel alignment” on a Quattro, got a two wheel alignment. Scammed. Never dealt with anyone with a VW tattoo, but did deal with this short, fat C U Next Tuesday that worked there. Real asshole she was.

I fuckin’ love EA scammin.

Well theres your first problem…

lol, funny thing was it was cheaper to buy from the store in PA and have it shipped to me than to buy up there. Some of their stuff is cheaper and some of their stock is different in ON, but not what I needed to buy. The trip wasn’t a bust though and we brought back some good stuff.

I can honestly say I have never been to Goodyear or IKEA. Both scare the shit out of me.

The thing that confuses me the most is the tech saying that “your wheel is cracked by the flange.” What was he trying to refer to on the wheel when he called it a flange? Only thing I can think of is he meant hub, but, it seems someone who would call something a flange would know what a hub is.

I got lost in Ikea the only time I went there, it took me several days to get out. I’ll never go there again.

I’ve had something very similar to this happen to me here in Houston. I recently moved down here and the starter went out in my corvette. No big deal I thought, so I took it to a corvette “specialist” down here. They only sold and worked on corvettes, perfect right? They did the starter but reversed my O2 sensors. The car ran like crap and I had to buy new ones and replace them myself.

Sometimes life sucks lol.

I know the do 19s, they did the ones on my dad’s Touareg (against my recomendation). There’s dickheads out there everywhere in the “automotive repair” industry, sucks having to deal with them.

X…

Looks like I have a hair line crack, I’m happy those guys weren’t lying and my car ‘rusted’ that fast (bought some antisieze for that).

We’re good, waiting for my new wheel now…

glad to hear you didnt buy a wheel for no reason at least.
even though it sucks regardless.

hey now you can have a baller end table or garden hose at least?

wow. best idea ever. those plastic shits always break and the metal ones can never support all the weight.

plus it’ll increase the resale value of your house just because it’s a BMW

good to hear everything worked out, sucks you had to buy a new wheel, i doubt that was cheap

sidenote- i was really drunk last night when i wrote this. i barely remember doing it, honestly. im surprised at how well written it is, considering my frame of mind at that point in the evening. i had drank an entire growler of flower power ipa, and a good amount of red wine.

You could have brought it to the dealership, had a similar experience, and everyone would have been on your nutts about that too. Apparently you have to be a super talented car enthusiast to change a tire.

I’m not against supporting our vendors, I support them as often as possible, but give me a break. Even implying that going to Goodyear was the gayest idea ever for a flat tire in a pinch, is fucking lame.

You’re lucky those “fucking loser assholes” at Goodyear (insert anything that isn’t Swerve) saw the crack in the wheel… after the dealership had a look at it, and you yourself inspected it looking for a crack, and still didn’t see it.

Some of these guys are so hung up on “how shitty every place is” that even if you re-wrote the OP to - “Goodyear saved my life by finding a crack in my wheel that nobody else could see”, they’d still hate on it.

My hookup doesn’t work there anymore, so I don’t bother with them. I’d also never let them do anything other than tires on any of my vehicles. But tires are tires. 19s ain’t shit.

lol!

yeah it’s not TOO bad I just don’t want it to crack worse…I think I’m going to have it welded up and throw the old tire that isnt flat on it just for a makeshift spare. Not something to drive on for a long time, but I might need it sometime.

When I cracked one of my CH’s I had it welded up at Don’s Welding on Transit. Turned out mint.

Nice. That’s where I was planning on going, actually haha.

I highly recommend Don’s Welding Service as well. They can also straighten out bent wheels as well. Good guys over there

lol @ haters. It’s a fuggin flat tire, not rocket surgery. Nothing wrong with taking it to goodyear to get a tire patched, even if that tire is attached to an expensive car.

Oh, read some more and now see that they were right. I am vindicated!

Don’t get me wrong, I hate goodyear. They scammed me when I was in college pinching pennies and couldn’t afford to be scammed. I won’t go there. But it’s not like BMW’s tires have unicorn hair sidewalls and tread made from leprechaun cum, or wheels made of unobtanium fastened to the hub with quantum nanobolts.

BUT THEY ARE SUPERCAR TIRES!!!

Shit DJ I could have taken that bad B5 rim there. Oh well. Still hunting for a second set for this old girl.

Glad everything worked out, and I fully support the coffee table idea.
