So i drop my car off this morning at 7:30 for an oil change. 2pm rolls around and i havent heard anything so i call them. They tell me that they shredded my tire while pulling my car on the lift. It will be thursday at the earliest to get a tire (18" P-Zero Nero M+S), so i’ll be without it until then. So i ask for a loaner and they tell me they don’t have any!! WHAT THE SHIT?!
So now i have to hope they didnt fuck up my aftermarket rim. And how does one shred a tire while pulling it on the lift??? :picard:
seriously … worst dealer ever! and they are the only audi one around
i guess thats what i get for having them do it. i just hear its a pain to do it myself and they charge $10 than it would cost me anyways.
btw, call them back and DEMAND they provide you with a rental car…most any dealership can do that…

thats my biggest problem right now. i mean they are a dealership… they have to have cars around for this shit. even if its not an Audi, something is better than no car at all. If i was a ‘professional’ they wouldnt pull this shit. I will give them hell in the morning, thats for sure. and now they will have to re-align my car with the off-balance tire
call… DEMAND a rental car and 4 new tires as you cannot just replace ONE tire on an AWD system… no matter what… (they scam people on this allt he time even if its sorta true)
i work in a dealership, i guarantee you should be able to acquire with enough complaining to the right person (ie call the general manager of schmidts, dont bother talking to service)
a. 4 new tires
b. possibly a new wheel
c. alignment
d. rental car for the length of time you are without a car

they can give you ANY car off the lot with dealer plates i had to do this a couple of times @ northtown hyundai
and u shred a tire by leaving the arm out on the lift when u drive by and you catch the corner of the pad… somebody wasnt paying attention, and i severly doubt it missed your rim…
actually, you might get an even faster response if you call audi’s us help line, complain to them, have THEM call schmidts, and then see how fast schmidts reacts…
+1 for getting out there and checking out the damage.
And bitch about the rental car thing. They’ve got used cars, they’ve got dealer plates, so they can put you in something if they really want to. Or they can reimburse you for a rental from Enterprise/Budget/Hertz.
However, it does make me kinda glad that, as a bit of an Audi specialist, I located my shop 1.6 miles away from them.
And I also agree. Call Tim Schmitt and let him know that this is unacceptable and you expect to pick up a loaner in the morning. If he claims not to have one, they can pay for a rental.
i;m on the phone with audi usa to see about the tire deal … they dont think you need all 4, but are checking. if they say yes, then my ass is going down there now to bitch up a storm and get new tires out of the deal

If you have a Torsen (not Haldex) center diff, and the circumferences of the tires are considerably different, meaning 1 new tire and 3 50% worn tires, then you need all 4.
