dont fucking give me the picard, especially lame ass car guys that think theyre tough because they give their RWD truck gas and do a fishtail
i want a bike that i can slowly learn how to ride twisties on. i wanna be able to turn sharply and take a knee when turning, learn how to hold a wheely, learn some better evasive maneuvers, and i do not want to use my super clean bike =D i am currently too scared to get close to the ground or really push my limits, its like doing anything for the first time, you’re always nervous and excited!
AND YES IM YELLING!!! make an offer on paulos bike sell his stock plastics for 600 (with lights) and buy a used motor for 500, and track plastics, and go to town. or buy it and throw a motor in it… and learn on it.
I pretty much taught myself with the help of a couple people giving me advice its pretty easy now. You really need to grow confidence with your tires before you start pushing it IMO. Always look through the turn no matter what and be smooth. The hardest thing for me is positioning it takes a lot of practice to get it right and I still don’t think I am where I should be.
Don’t push it on the street. I’ve seen one friend lose it this year and it changed my mind about aggressive street riding.
Buy good gear (Leather jacket + pants or 1 piece, boots (sidi, teknic, alpinestars) get gauntlet gloves and do some track days. Closest track to us is TMP (out near Toronto) and Mosport which is a little bit further.
Do trackdays! It’s pretty inevitable that you will drop your bike at some point. Just get some track plastics for your GSXR.
Holy crap. What’s the over/under on how long till ubengineering kills himself?
Dude. Start over. You’re doing EVERYTHING wrong. Sell your power modded liter class bike and get something to learn on before you kill yourself. You need an easier bike to ride and people to teach you how to do it. This means both formal instruction and experienced responsible riders to teach you how to maintain and ride a bike without killing yourself.
i ride other peoples bikes, ie, an old cbr f2 or ryans 99 r6… i NEVER felt like i was connected to the ground like i did on my 954… then my 636 came… felt even better connected to the ground. I LOVED THAT BIKE, the best way i can describe it… (and anybody who I ever let ride it) will tell you that its best described as…
Confidence Inspiring
this pic was taken by mike pohlman… it was my 3rd bike and i had been riding for 2 years… that 954 with pilot powers felt like glue
after a little mishap… it looked like this AND THATS when i began to have fun with it…
the 636 had the same fate… i had more fun with it when i didnt care about it… but i promise if it was a 20 year old or even 10 year old ss bike… i probably wouldnt have enjoyed it as much.
get a bike you’re not afraid to enjoy… be safe and you’ll learn a ton more.
AND RUN A TRACK DAY AND WEAR YOUR GEAR… i think the 140hp bike was a mistake for what YOU want to do. if you just cruised on it and commuted then it would be different.
those are sum really nice shots, and i think id be afraid to wreck any bike, even my old shitty thundercat, on the new bike all i do is commute and cruise on it, nothing else
my bike only is an o2, maybe ill invest in them plastics and sum sliders n such
I LOVE MY BIKEEEEEEEEEEE and i love cruising on it and the way it looks and got a great deal on it, i dont wanna get rid of it
then dont… and go about learning the wrong way…
“its always more fun to go faster on a slow bike than it is to go slower on a fast bike”…
be safe.
“a man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still”
nothing people are going to tell you is going to change your mind until you figure it out on your own… that being said, get new tires and run a trackday… run novice so you’re not over your head, do a school, and learn…
