I shit carbon fiber

I wanted to clean up the engine bay looks as the PO spared no expense on the engine internals / performance but didn’t exactly pay much attention to the “bling”. I didn’t want to do chrome cause it’s been done to death. I was thinking powder coat but unless I went black, it was going to be hard to keep clean. Got some carbon fiber accent pieces over the years but they look out of place so I decided to do it all in cf. Just got the big parts today. Unfortunately, I won’t be ripping my motor down till end of season. Think it’s gonna be da shit when it’s all done.

Plenum, throttle bodies, and balance tube.

500ish?

Don’t loose those balance tube o-rings when you swap the plenums!

Swapping that plenum is going to suck.

Detective Coating?

I misread.
You already have these!

Judging by the layout of your engine bay these should be a breeze to install…

wat

Why would you get aluminum parts coated to look like CF…

^ Because Racecar.

I suppose that’s as good a reason as any for me to hate it.

Yeah, I think I read somewhere I’ll have to flip the car over and install them through the tailpipe. Not simple but could be worse.

Any part on your car that looks like high tech, light weight materials can add 5-6 additional horsepower per part.

See, if you actually got carbon manifolds, that would be sweet. But trying to make aluminum look like carbon? That’s lame. It’s not even an overlay/wet layup.

Is that the new rustoleum carbon fiber spray paint?

thread backfire

Your proctologist must love you. That sounds really painful.

Everybody’s got an opinion. No problem.

This doesn’t bother me as much as the Z33 emblem in your sig. Find a Z32 one!

I see no issue in sprucing up your engine bay, faux carbon fiber or real.

In my mind it is strictly a cosmetic thing, and not really much different from wrapping interior trim.

I think its going to look badass.

Because NOT racecar.
