Let’s say, I take the tube from the IAC pipe to the air intake pipe off, plug the air intake side and put a little filter on the IAC pipe. What type of problems would this cause, if any? And… let’s say the engine is a turbo, if it matters.
Does the IAC need some sort of force for it to work or… what’s going on with that?
On a MAF car it’s not a good idea…it will introduce air that has not been metered.
On a MAP car…no problem.

wouldnt the charge air flow out of the intake manifold, the other way past the iac and out to the atmosphere??
The answer is yes putting a filter on the iac will screw it up horribly.
