IACV Bench test help

Car in question is a 88 325e with an “i” head swap, M30 AFM, FPR, and Injectors.

My car has a VERY hard time holding a good idles so I think my IACV has crapped out on me. I tried unplugging it to see if there was any difference in the way the motor runs while idling and it didnt do anything. I unplugged it and it idled the same as when I plugged it back in. I know that there is a way to test the IACV but I dont have my Bentley manual with me to look it up. Can anyone give me the procedure to bench test the IACV?

I posted this exact question on another forum and got this response:

One thing that is the most common cause of a crap idle and non functioning icv is a dead or out of adjustment tps, if the tps doesn’t signal that the throttle is closed the computer won’t turn on the idle circuit

My car is an “I” Head swapped “e”. Im running the “t” style IACV from the “i”. I wasnt aware that you can “adjust” the TPS? Since I dont have access to my Bentley manual, How can I test both the IACV and the TPS to see if they are still good. I would imagine that I can hook my volt meter up to them and check to see what they are reading but not sure exactly how.
