is there a way to tell what year your motor is? (sr20det)
check the silver plate on the firewall. For s13’s 89 - 90 240sx’s come with ka24e and 91- 93 come with ka24de engine the “de” is Dohc (dual overhead cam) and the “e” is sohc (single overhead cam). Sr20det engines are jdm and many swap those into north american 240sx’s. The sr20det was used in the newer gen s13’s and the ca18det was used in the older gen s13’s
yaya i know that stuff but im going to buy a motor i know that s13 red top is from 91-94 and black through 94-98 maybe even alittle sooner. what i want to know is, is there a way to tell what exact year the motor is?
yes, use the vin and type it in.
Thats if you buy a clip. Check the ECU they all have different codes written on them I’m pretty sure.
pretty sure I read somwhere there are date of production codes on the coilpacks…
sr= engine code, 20=2.0liter , d=dual over head cam, e=electronic fuel injection, t=turbo
