My Corvette books for about 22k, but if I were to sell it, I’d take no less then 40K. Given that, I recently insured it with Hagerty insurance. I was able to put 40K of coverage on it, and I was 100 percent honest with the modifications that are done to it. It’s more expensive then my old coverage (Geico)…it cost me 1290 for the year vs. like 500 a year or whatever for Geico, but the peice of mind and secure feeling when driving the car are priceless.
Yep, once you get your car appraised to the proper amount that it’s worth over the OEM version of it, you can get insured for it. Obviously it will be a higher coverage, but it’s very much worth it in the end if you have a lot of money into your car that insurance will never recognize.
I also have my car through hagerty they will not take every car though. Ray I have an awesome agent let me know if you want the number. Insured for 40k
A company/…previosuly or maybe still, currently, “Rally” Insurance, was soooooo affordable I had no choice. There is coverage for modified cars, use it. Listen to travis… but shop it, Haggerty’s is not the #1 option for everyone.
Why??? because Haggetry’s is underwritten by them.
Hagerty was great until NYS tacked on a $150 surcharge for under 25 years of age. My insurance went from $320 for the year @ $20k to $650 in just 2 years, lol. Don’t worry, there’s hope, when you’re 30…
Problem with Rally is that there is a huge grey area that if you car is totaled and your not going to and from a car show it wont be covered. Not to mention you cant get more than 5000 miles a year. I dont drive that much with my Supra, but I know some of you guys DD your cars.
Be creative, insure a cheap daily that you dont drive…I/E/ buy a 200 junker, insure it, park it if you need to, consider it your daily.
I have insured everything…including cost of mods… affordably. You need to look nationally. Im not gonna read this to see if it fits, but try here… http://www.rallyinsurance.com/modifiedkit.html
There is a “track exclusion”, but no one here expects track coverage.
