Not true at all. Ideally, you go on track as a noob with a car you are familiar with, DD or not. A majority of the people you see at events are there in their DDs (well, seasonal DD). Certain car insurance companies WILL cover any on track crash due to the event not being timed (not competitive), and it is just a driving instruction event. I know Liberty Mutual covers stuff.

Realistically, you should not take a car on track that would set you back financially if you were to push it off a cliff.

You’ll never, ever convince me that it’s a logical idea to ‘race’ any car that you rely on for daily transportation. The OP blew up his car at the track and was without transportation for awhile.

Yeah. I blew it up. Ive had a vehicle to drive also. Some of us still want to have fun but dont rake in a lot of money to have 3 vehicles and a dedicated toy. Ill take the risks again.

It’s not racing, it’s driving w/ instruction. It’s not Death’s only car so it’s not like he’ll be without transportation should anything happen.

The OP could’ve blown his car up on the street and be without transportation, so I dunno why how it happened on a track should matter?
