…on its passenger side shaped like a 2010 Subaru Legacy, slash its tires for me.
Wife was parked on the street at a client’s house (speech pathologist, not hooker) and came out to find the street-side of her car covered in a big yellow scrape and the mirror broken. My best guess is some dick bag was texting and veered over just far enough to clip my wife’s car and keep on going.
Sons of bitches. There goes a $500 dollar deductible that I would have much rather spent on coke and hookers.
EDIT: Disclaimer - Do not actually damage someone’s car for me. I don’t want any of you window lickers to take that seriously and actually damage someone’s property.
The only thing that pisses me off is that it wasn’t the same door that you tried to unmuff for me this spring. I still haven’t fixed that thing so I’m going to try to sneak it in on the same deductible, even though I’m pretty sure that won’t work. I didn’t fix it because I was pretty sure that sooner or later it’ll get banged up anyway so maybe someone else’s insurance can pay for muffing my muff.
I don’t drive it much but when I do I really like it. The 6 speed shifts better than any of the 5 speed Subarus I’ve driven. Handles pretty well too considering that it really became a pretty big car in 2010. Haven’t had any problems with it, other than the electronic ebrake didn’t want to disengage a few times during the dead of winter. Oh, and it’s an electronic ebrake. (Button on the dash rather than fun handle.)
Something’s goofy with the design of the gas/clutch though. My best guess is that it’s an electronic throttle that doesn’t respond to the first 5% of input or something. It almost feels like the car sticks when you try to pull away. Maybe it’s an electronic clutch that’s got a weird initial response. So it results in me bogging the car when I first jump in it, or conversely my wife revving the shit out of the truck when she first drives it after she hasn’t for a while. I dunno. Other than oil changes I like to enjoy the blissful ignorance period of brand new cars aka warranty period.
Maybe. That’s basically what it feels like, but not as bad and all the time not just when it’s engaged.

We’ll see. The car’s only 10 months old. I’m probably going to take it back to Northtown since that’s where the car came from. I’ve had cars fixed there 3 times in the last 5 years and the paint/cosmetic type of work has been top notch. The assembly work has been crap though. They didn’t put the door back together properly on my truck, and the body panel gaps were not even on the Mazda. I’ll probably still have them do it, but look at it closely this time and not accept the car until it’s assembled properly.
Well it happened on Oliver Street, but the thing about cars is that they’re highly mobile. It might not be on Oliver Street or even in North Tonawanda anymore.
I’m going to get a couple of estimates myself today, the adjuster comes tomorrow and should cut me a check on the spot so I can get this bitch fixed.
