:? The SR20DE nonturbo has 140 hp and 132ft. lbs. torque and The KA24DE has 155 hp and 160ft. lbs. torque NONTURBO so wut makes u guyz think that sr20 engine is better… spendin so much money to do the engine swap… u could just drop turbo in the stock engine and it will be as fast as the sr20… :?: :?: :?: :?:
uh, go home…
I can’t even count the number of problems with that statement. Geez, my car has a KA24DE …where was I when Nissan was dropping SR20DE’s into 240s. I feel so robbed!
Someone should lock this quick… like now.
there is only one or two KA-T guys on this site or in the whole province that can role with the big SR’s, and they have spend the same or more $$$ on their enignes anyways.
the KA cant just take a turbo and tons of boost. you have to build it inside to make it handle a ton, and at that point it is the same $$$ as an SR.
if you keep being ghey you’ll get smacked with the ban-stick
Man, why didn’t I think of this a long time ago! I’m so stupid!
BAN!
im not even kidding.
ohh so much to say i cant even begin. :o
To get a good SR20DE on your car one will have to spend at least $2000 on the engine with decent miles, then all the wiring to make it work with the 240, transmission, you might have to get a turbo if the SR20 is not a turbo, and all of its components. That will be a total of about $4000. All this money to get 220hp out of the SR20DE-T. If one puts $4000 on the KA24DE and turbo, it will be a hell of a street car. It will be pushing close to 350rwhp and will be spanking the SR20DE-T any day.
This is what happens when Civic owners get money…
if you hurry you may be able to catch that turnip truck you fell off of…

Agreed. I vote ban.
Me?
The reason everybody swaps in the SR20 is because it has a red valve cover. We all know that red = race, much like the numerous Type R stickers that are probably plastered all over your car…if you have one.
Me?[/quote]
no, no, no. nissanfreak
anyway the KA24DE is a great motor, I beat on one everyday for 3 1/2 years before it blew.
the SR20DE and SR20DET are DIFFERENT motors, inside and out, its not just a turbo.
I think you (nissan freak) should sit back and read all the info you can (ie google, 20,000 hits) and then come back with a little knowledge.
SR or KA, it dosen’t really matter, it depends on ones goals, I’ve watched H try and tune his KA-T for over a month. My SR was plug and play (blitz tune) and I love it, its personal preference.
KA redline 7000, SR 7500-9000?

I’m powdercaoting my blacktop red, just to be cool, well, and faster
anyways i dont know much about the sr20 but even if i wanna do engine swap i wouldn’t drop that cheap ass engine that everyone has, ill drop the rb25det engine in my 240sx. and have fun catchin up with me with ur sr20…is ganna cost me more money but is worth it…
you’ll drop a RB eh? have fun with that, see you in 2007.
speed ain’t nothing without control and restraint
i like birds.
see u in 2007??? wut u think im dropin an airplane engine in my 240sx??? It does not take all this custom fabrication that everyone talks about, in fact doing it by yourself would take only about 30 hours
