Short Version:
If you know of any places in Buffalo that this would be good for, please point the bar manager my way. I’ve performed this in a few spots in Buffalo as well as overseas and it has been quite well-accepted.
I’ve been spending too much time on airplanes and something to do besides eating peanuts on 14 hour trans-Pacific flights is making music on my laptop. I began performing a few times on the road and “foreigners” really liked it. I’d like to bring this back to Buffalo and think it would do even better here because we’re more familiar with the artists being insulted and songs being destroyed in the process.
Let me know if you know of any places in Buffalo that would appreciate this. I don’t think there are too many “DJ’s” around here doing this. If you know the bar manager, that’d be a huge plus.
I don’t need any special equipment either - I’ve done this each time with 1 free channel on any mixer (a couple CDJ’s would be nice too to run more loops, but not absolutely necessary)
DBGB’s seems like a good place, also the new venue in Buffalo “The Waiting Room” is booking all sorts of off beat shows, im not personally affiliated, but Chris Ring and Justin Tartick of Afterdark Entertainment may be of some assistance booking a show here and there and overall good contacts to establish.
