I want to buy a digital camera tomorrow. I’ve been doing a lot of reading online on different ones, but can’t find “the one” just yet. I’m looking for a point and shoot type. I’m not looking to go balls deep and use it for photography. It’d be for more or less your everyday shooting. But I would like one that could take decent shots at concerts and sporting events. I am going to a concert tomorrow and would like to get one before then to try it out. my price range I would like to be at is around $300 or less. And I really dont want a bulky one. thanks everyone
You’re going to get a ton of opinions. For the casual clicker they’re all the same. Go play with them and buy whatever you like within your price range.
For example: I spent $300 dollars on the Canon SD880 IS when it first came out. I bought my inlaws an older model Canon SD1100 for $100 for Christmas. Their pictures come out just as good. FML.
That being said, all of my point and shoots have been Canons. I really wanted to get a Nikon for my last one, but after doing far too much research on what amounts to a commodity I bought the Canon SD880 I just mentioned. I’ve been happy with it. The zoom rocker started to stick after a while like all Canons do, but it wasn’t too hard to disassemble, clean, and put back together. All better now.
Gotchya. Yea my first digital camera back in the day was like a $450 sony cybershot. boy was that camera a piece. my next camera was a canon sd400, which is my current one. I love it to death and will probably get another canon based on the fact that all camera’s do appear to be quite similar.
I’ll agree with Fry. Canon is almost always the way to go with point and shoots. You can get a somewhat advanced point and shoot in the same price range and add a good zoom in the mix, along with some more manual control if you ever wanted to start learning more about photography. Just something to think about.
i have a canon and i love it.
The lense stuck like fucking crazy when it got cold.
but i worked through it.
and it takes mad good pictures.
