Indiana Jones/Galleria Regal Review

I will do this all in one

Went to the new regal the the Galleria Mall last night to check out the new Indy movie

We will start with the theater. It is damn nice having a brand new, clean theater…nicely lit and pretty modern setup. The theater we were in held approximately 250-300 people, and the show was sold out so it was packed, glad I got there early. (side rant, I hate people that show up in groups bigger than 4 with like 5 mins left before a big/opening weekend movie and bitch cause they cant find seats together). The seating is all stadium style, so no one can really block your view. Tons of leg room as well

…now the bad part. The seats are awful. Maybe it is because I am a tall guy at 6’ 4", but even my buddy who is average height was uncomfortable in them as well. The seat bottom (you know, where your ass goes) seems too small, or short or whatever, I like to get comfy and slouch when I am in a theater, not really possible here. The only “comfortable” position is sitting perfectly upright like I was in manner school or something. The seat as a whole sort of rocks back a bit if you like to give you a little relief, but there is no lower back support when this happens.

Ok on to the movie…

Like a lot of people I am pretty set on my Jones movies, I like the classic, yet epic feel to them. You always feel as though Jones is part of some bigger scheme. This seemed to be missing from this movie. It was more like Lucas and Spielberg were just trying to make a nod to the original 3 rather than continue the story.
This isn’t to say the movie was bad, I enjoyed it. The story was decent, wont say much as to not spoil it, but the trailers really dont give away much, if any detail of what is really going on. There is plenty of double crossing and bad guys and that sort of things.
One of my fav scenes had to do with the ants…that is all.

Over all I would give the movie a 3.5/5  's

great review.

how do the seats compare to the regal on transit.

is it that huge of a dif?

Yeah big time, I “like” the seats at transit, or at least dont become uncomfortable in them

Jones was about 2 hours long, and my back started getting sore about half way through. I was so glad to get back into my super comfy car seats when i was done

thats interesting about the seat review. my co-worker said the same thing about the new clean theatre aspect. . but she absolutly loved the seats. but shes about 5" tall.

hahaha maybe chicks fit better? They do have a knack of being able to snug into odd spaces

Holy shit, I’d be comfortable in a real person sized seat too if I was 5 inches tall. It’s like a trampoline!

maybe they just need to be broken in… a couple years of popcorn farts should break down the foam pretty good

I went to this movie and this theater last night. I liked the movie.

And I didn’t mind the seats and I’m 5’11…I kind of liked how they had a higher back…I can never get comfy in the chairs at regal on transit…

How are the prices at the Galleria Regal? Same as anywhere else? (9.75)

if i had a 5 inch tall GF i would totally shove her up my ass.

Like a gerbil?

just because it’s the most hilariously degrading thing i could think of.

Yeah I fandango’d mine and it was $20.50 for 2 tix

I do heart being able to walk up to a machine, insert card and get my tix

seats are great you dont have to slouch they lean back and i am 6’1"

I liked the seats and I am 6’ 3"…

I hate the people at Galleria… are they any better?

CYE reference?

I was there last nite to see a different movie…I am 6’2 190 and love the seats. They are like coach airliner seats that recline more. I did not notice the ass to seat ratio as being a problem.

Theatre was great…service for the food was uber slow but I attribute that to the free popcorn/drink tickets they were giving out.

Overall it is probably the only area movie theatre I will be going to from now on.

No teaser or details, just my opinion if you scroll down…

I am currently writing a letter to George Lucas asking for my $20 back and for him to retire into an old folks home.
