Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge = Infiniti GTR

I’ve seen pictures and thought it was cool. It sounds good too, but I just figured it was going to be a somewhat better Q50… I guess it’s going to be more than that:

They did it. They finally did it. Today in Geneva the hood was lifted on the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge, and it has the engine we’ve always wanted: the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Nissan GT-R with 560 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque… the car will do zero to 60 mph in under four seconds, can do up to 180 mph, and has a seven-speed automatic gearbox, but not the dual-clutch the GT-R gets. Oh, and all-wheel drive. It has all-wheel drive with a 50/50 front-rear torque split.

Sounds:

that looks sick

 nice

That looks really, really good.

i’d like to see less carbon on it to be honest but the idea is really cool.

i’m also waiting to see what the next gen G coupe / Q60 looks like. they put the Q60 badges on the G37 coupe but it’s still the exact same as before and there are no images of what the next generation will look like.

i wonder what the depreciation on these is going to be like… i don’t know what one of these will cost but i will assume 80-120k ? You can buy a E55 AMG for 1/4 the msrp with relatively decent mileage for low 20s and M5 from the next yr gen for what… low 30s ? I am going to guess these will depreciate much more quickly than a GTR and there’s going to be some badass sedans rolling around Lol

holy jesus.

Q50 may share the GTR power plant, but will not share the drivetrain. Q100 will most likely be closer to GTR when released.

I would be happy to just have the motor and keep the price down

Looks great, to match the looks

Huh… GTR that fits a car seat?

X…

Any GTR can fit a car seat.

I think its a step in the right direction, its a pretty cool car. Doesn’t look too amazing but they’re getting there. If only lincoln would do something cool instead of making car that look so ugly.

This is awesome

Awesome. About time Infiniti stepped up with a performance offering. Only thing they have with any power is the M56 and it’s a tank.

Obviously, after having two Nissan Maximas (97 GXE and 99 SE) and now my 07 M35x…I love Nissan products. Infiniti and Nissan are making huge strides IMO. My moms 2014 Pathfinder is NICE.

Love this Q50.

This is another one, just a Q50s with some Vossens and a drop but boy is it sexy:

they make great sport sedans and i’d take one over anything from audi and Merc but nothing quite matches BMW M cars

They should filter the GTR specs down through everything they make and put a hurting on AMG and RS#

Cadillac is already putting a hurting on BMW and Merc right now…I’m about to pick up a new ///V

anyone know anything about the next gen of the G coupe? I know they changed it to Q60 but it’s still a G37… curious when info on the new one will be coming out.

So not exactly getting the GTR motor but:

New for 2016 is a 3-litre, twin-turbocharged V6. The new VR30 unit is related to the VR38 found in the Nissan GT-R, albeit lower in capacity. Infiniti says it offers a best-in-class power to efficiency ratio: High-pressure direct injection, variable valve timing, optimised turbine blades and a turbine speed sensor allow it to deliver high power with relatively little thirst.

The unit produces 400bhp at 6400rpm – not far at all from the BMW M3’s 425bhp figure – and 350lb ft of torque from 1600-5200rpm. While not pitched as a direct competitor to cars like the M3, figures like those should deliver entertaining performance.
