I have the injen intake Cold air installed since a couple of weeks (on a ka) and I don’t know for you but I tried to remove the extension to test it and it seems that the car pulls a bit more starting at 4000rpm. When the extension is on, doesn’t do that. I know that with the extention, air takes longer to get to the engine and air is much more cold. Since I don’t want to spend money on dyno for a intake, anyone is having the same impression ?
most likely you FEEL like it’s pulling harder with the extension off because it sounds louder.
I’d say the difference between running the extension or not is very small espically if everything else is stock.
the KA motor likes a shorter length intake.
AEM doesnt even manufacture a cold air for it, because the short ram design they have makes more power and is less money than a cold air would be.
some motors like a short ram design better. leave it off, its not just a plecebo.

Not at all, I would even say that it sounds louder with the extension on, but it’s really not a question of impression, it pulls harder without the extention starting at 4000rpm. I have removed it and will install my 91 cams on my S14 and will see some more result…

2.5 whp + 2.5 whp + 2.5 whp…etc somehow, I’ll notice a difference with a couple of mod like this, I think it will be the combination of small mods that will do the trick. But back to the topic, extention of Injen cold air, with or without, anyone is having impresion like I do ?

Leave it off.
Means you are less likely to suck water too.
And don’t go spending tons of money on little mods.
People who spend thousands on N/A KAs don’t see much power … not to mention their screwed up powerband 
I won’t spend to much money, but those mod cost me almost nothing and a little bit of time and thats it. I know my objectives and I will invest toward my goal, no more. Since water is not a factor for me (I don’t take it when it’s raining, ok sometimes…) I am not sure whats best…
