installing backlit keyboard

So I recently bought a toshiba 775-S7320 I loved everything about it exept no backlit keyboard so i went on ebay and grabed this:

Put it in my laptop… everything works and my motherboard DID have the spot to plug in the backlight port, but i think i need some kind of drivers to run the backlit any help?

there is a program for macs that is a 3rd party for the backlight. try googling and find the same. its just a slide that controls the backlight

Found this…

  1. Shut down laptop
  2. Turn on and start tapping the F2 button until you get to the BIOS screen
  3. Scroll over to power management and change the setting for your backlit keyboard from off to on.
  4. Press F10 to save and continue to start up.
  5. Enjoy.

–REVISION: I am done “tweaking it” as I have found the answer and it was glaring me in the face. Instead of just turning it to the ON position through BIOS, turn it to TIMER. You can set the amount of time you want it to stay on when ever you press a key and the FN+Z shortcut works when this is set up so you can turn the keyboard on, off, or to follow the timer right from your desktop. I hope this helped.

Thanks for the quick answersm I checked bios there is nothing in there for keyboard or illumination. one other thing a google searched showed was looking in the utilities and turning it on. notheirng there.

Bump this back up still no back lit but the rest of the keyboard works great :stuck_out_tongue:

found the modal number P755-S5269 is the same exept has backlit keyboard. tryed installing bios for said model and i just get “project id check fail”
