insulated work boots

i am in need of some great insulated boots. they dont need to be steel toed but i would like them to look like work boots. i dont want camo lookin boots because then the job sites will probably realize that they are not steel tow.

being outside for 8 hours in the cold not doing anything is killin my feet.

thanks in advance.

im lookin for something in the 6-8" and the 100+ grm insulation

I work outside all year round.
A lot of guys swear by red wings. i had a pair, but i thought they were too bulky.
Most of the year i just wear steel toed lugz drifter mids, I just think they’re more comfy than anything else. If it’s real cold i have a pair of timberland steel toe pit boss.

Your best bet is to get a pair of boots that are comfy and get a great pair of socks. Last year I bought 10 pairs of Carhartt socks, they were by far the best investment i’ve ever made.

I work outside year round as well. We have to wear steel toes and I wear Matterhorns. Great boot but there pricey. There water proof/insulated.

I also invest in carhart/under armor cold weather socks and wick liners.

A few of my buddies all rave about Red Wings. Stop by a Birkenstock store if you can find one and pick up some Wigwam socks, too. Have a few pairs of those (The GF used to work at Birkenstock), they are nice and warm.

i bought a pair of hunting boots that are 1200 gm thinsulate. they are bulky but i dont more around much at work besides cleaning at the end of the day and i switch to my concrete rubber boots for that.

i also finally bought coveralls and a jacket. im kinda excited for tomorrow. we will see how these boots do and then i will think about getting way better socks.

redwings are by far the best boot i have ever bought… the ones i have, have a steel flex bar in the sole and help a ton if you are on your feet all day

the steel shank makes them nice for climbing telephone poles too

i had my redwings for about 3 months and they fell apart… actually fell apart at 2 months and lasted for another month. i will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever own another pair of redwings. my cheap ass brahma’s lasted for 8-10 months the only thing red wings had was comfort and i would just change the insoles on the brahma’s and they were decent. but no insulation sucks.

as grnteg said, the red wings are pretty bulky, but we bought a boot that has a 1" climbing/logging sole with 600 grams of thinsulate. Great for the cold but not great for standing around or walking on concrete. What type of work do you do? What price range are you looking at? I had a pair of Rocky Ironclads that I got at The Bargain Corner on 51. The were lined, but not insulated, and my feet never got cold or wet. The were about $90. I did not like the sole on the boot and stopped wearing them to work. I do plan on having them resoled. www.americanmadeworkboots.com has a decent selection and pretty good prices too. Franks @ Caste Village has just about every boot made.

go down to Franks in Caste Village and check out his selection …where I got my work boots that have lasted 3 years

these are good to -40 degrees

I wear timberland PRO w/ titanium toe… best boot i’ve ever had, and i’ve worn work boots for 8-9 years.

I had those Timberland pros with the Ti toe. I wore them out in 8 months. Soles were worn out and cracked.
