Insurance company problems

I don’t see why that would be an issue. The piece is prepped, primed, painted. Any imperfections will be addressed. That is unless the shop is just plain shady then it wont matter what parts are used.

They will often find parts in the same factory color so no paint is needed. They tried this when my corvette was rear ended, but I straightened that out real quick. You just need to use a strong firm sounding voice and demand what is fair. If that doesn’t work try telling them your back is starting to hurt pretty bad. lol

If a shop tried pulling something like that then it is not the place to go for work. A good shop will inspect, repair, paint and blend to match the rest of the car.

I’m just saying used parts are not a bad thing. I’d rather have used OEM parts than new Chinese parts.

The first thing you should do in any insurance claim is call your attorney, including home owner’s, etc. I have seen way too many people (myself included) get FUCKED by insurance companies on claims that seem to be simple, black and white, no brainers. Believe me I hate calling my attorney but unfortunately that is the way the world works these days.

In 95% of cases, attorneys do nothing but take your money. They arent “the heavy hitters.” They dont “fight” for you. They do nothing but sit back and wait for the claim to get worked out and then when the offer is made, they negotiate, the same way you would. After all is said and done, they then take 1/3 of your money for doing the exact same job that you do. Attorneys do not change liability or get claims moved any faster or get you any more money. A claim is worth what it is worth with an attorney on the case or not. In most cases they slow the claim down because the attorney drags his feet in getting the needed information to the insurance company to move things along.

In the OPs case, the attorney would not be able to change the liability any different than the OP could. Then the attorney would be made the same offer for the damages to the car for $XXXX, which is usually what the damages are worth and then the attorney would take 1/3 of that for his payment. So in the end, the OP would end up with less money then he needed to fix his car.

In the real places attorneys are needed are super severe injuries where people cant fight for them selves. I had a claim out of state that a husband a wife struck the back of the Semi. The Semi was 55% liable for the accident. The husband had some minor injuries and the wife had 2 broken legs that they could not repair due to other medical conditions. As far as I know she is still bed ridden a year later as I dont have the claim anymore. They both have attorneys and need them. I couldnt tell them to get one, but I am glad they did as it will benefit them as long as it isnt one of the bottom feeders that you see on TV.

The whole reason attorneys have a “free consultation” is so you will come in and talk to them with the details on your loss. They will determine if they can make any money off of you. If they can, they will offer to rep you and if not, they will send you on your way. They dont give a shit about you, it is only your money they are after and by portraying the insurance company as this huge evil corporation, you fall right into their trap. Why do you think they advertise during the daytime and during court shows along with the “Everest Institute” and other low end schools? They are targeting low income, low education individuals. They say things like “you wont have to go to court.” No shit, you wont have to go to court. 95% of claims dont go to court. Especially auto accidents. Remember shapiro and shapiro? That douchebag never filed suit on anything and all the insurance companies knew it. He was just a bottom feeder to get as much money out of his clients as possible without doing the actual work of representing them if they needed it. If something was really wrong and suit needed to be filed, he would just dump his client. Last I knew he moved to FL to start his game down there.

Alright, Im done ranting. I agree there are insurance companies out there that will fuck you. The OP is a good example and it has happened to me from my own auto carrier. Being in claims myself, I try to be as fair as possible, however some people you just cant reason with. If it was my job to fuck people over, I certainly wouldnt be doing this. And as you can see, I try to educate people when ever they have a problem or a misunderstanding of how things work.

Well like I said I speak from experience as a business owner and just being an old man, I have been around a while and seen a lot. lol
I personally know people that have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Edit: I never said attorneys aren’t scum but so are insurance companies. Just for the record.

My insurance just called and they said I can take it to get fixed anytime now and his insurance is going to just pay for whatever the cost is so it looks like everything is worked out

go get a few estimates. get the check made out to you and get it fixed where ever u want. that way u can keep some cash for yourself if you want. or u can get it fixed at the highest estimate place
