where is the best place to go for insurance?
I’m currently with Wawanesa and they suck so I’m in the process of changing to TD Bank home & Auto Insurance.
Meloche is really good to me. its all the same price for plpd now so go where u get treated the best
I’m with MHK and have a very low rate and no problems…Even when I forgot to pay…
best place is still a sask plate …
Ditto. They have never given me a break and they always make it seem like it’s such a huge hassle to make any policy changes. I’ve been with them for 8 years now with a perfect record and no claims, yet I’m still just paying grid rates. No discounts whatsoever.
So yeah, that combined with the fact that they won’t insure RHD cars is going to send me over to Meloche at the end of my insurance year in May.

What racist pricks. Does this mean you are getting a RHD?
It is part of the plan…although who knows how this summer will go? :?:
Wawanesa is a piece of shit company. But I am a bit biased I suppose.
Must be nice to have a family that owns an insurance business
Hahaha dont own, just work for.
I got hit by a guy who was insured by Wawanesa, and they repeatedly told me to fuck off even though they knew their driver was at fault. It took a statement of claim to wake them up.
Yeah wawanesa sucks ass man! I just called them again and they said they weren’t gonna give me my money back but credit it to my account. So I now have a problem cause I’m switching to TD and they’ve been taking 260 out of my bank for the past 3 or 4 months that they shouldn’t have. Well atleast not the full amount. With a perfect record no tickets since I turned 16 under my own name( knock on wood) I give wanaesa two thumbs down!
ING and I pay about $100 per month.

The problem is that they are so far behind on their paper work Andrew. The summer before last I had the Buick on the road for a few months until I bought the Corolla. When I bought the Corolla I had them swap the liability coverage over from the Buick but leave fire/theft/vandalism. This was in August. In December they billed me twice the normal amount, but since I don’t usually look at my bank statements (I know, stupid on my part, but still not my fuckup) I didn’t notice them taking double out until they did it the second time in January.
So I called them up to rectify the problem and get my money returned. It turns out that they had never removed the Buick from active liability coverage and now I “owed” four months back coverage that they hadn’t charged me because they were behind on their paperwork. I told them that there was a mistake made because I had cancelled liability on the Buick, but they stood strong that I hadn’t told them to do so. So this is when I asked to speak with the woman I had spoken with in August. They say that I can’t. Why not? Because she was fired for making too many mistakes. YOU DON’T THINK THAT THIS IS ONE OF THOSE MANY MISTAKES? I’m a broke student here, I can’t afford to insure one car, let alone two.
So when it came down to it they wouldn’t refund the money they had charged me and they still charged me half of the “back payments” that they had yet to remove from my account. You can see that I’m obviously still pissed about this, but because they supplied the “lowest” rates before the recent insurance reforms, I stayed with them. Well they are no longer doing so and I can’t wait to drop them at the end of my insurance year in May. Because of their shitty service and fuckups I can bet that I’ve turned at least a few dozen people’s business away from them by stating how much they suck on different boards.
So yeah, Wawanesa sucks fat donkey balls!
so great having relatives in sask.
Hey guys, I’m with Wawanesa and haven’t had a problem yet. In fact, they’re very cheap…$85/month for my new car, which was pretty reasonable. That said, I haven’t got a ticket or had an accident, so that might play into it.
As far as the problems with administration…you should ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS send them a written request when you want to change something. That way, you have recourse. The best way to do it is through registered mail, because someone from your insurer has to sign for and date the receipt of the letter, meaning you have legal recourse if they try to screw you over. You could always fax it, but make sure your fax machine spits out a dated confirmation of delivery sheet, so again you have recourse and can prove you sent the letter to them.
So in closing…ALWAYS PUT EVERY DEALING IN WRITING! It avoids legal problems.
