integra turbo compression ???

Hi I have a 97 integra turbo ls/gsr i recently did a dry compression test and the results were

     cylinders 1 2 3 4
                                170 173 180 190

just wondering if this was good or bad ? any input is appreciated Thanks

did you have all of the plugs out when you tested each of them, or did you take one plug out at a time and not replace as you tested them?

one plug at a time

take all plugs out
unplug distributor
unplug injectors
wide open throttle
7 or 8 cranks/rotations

come back and report

This…its the only way to get an accurate reading.

Also make sure the motor is warmed up and not cold.

ok redid it the right way and i came up with 170 190 185 185 i also notice a small amount of smoke and hissing sound in cylinder number 2 after i pulled the plug from the hot motor any input ???

I would leave the motor alone unless its not pulling strong. The hissing could just be coolant moving around in the block. your results from the compression test are fine…bad results would look like 90 180 180 180…yours are all with 7% of the mean.

yeah, it’s not amazing, but LS blocks are almost free (I’ve window’d two of them this year) so just rock it until something gets worse.

are you having other symptoms like smoke that made you concerned?

@pamitar101 oh man, you remind me of being 16 and having my first car. I was eager to learn more about cars but lacked knowledge. Everything worried me. Stick with it and it’ll turn into a terrible, no good, horrible money suck of an addiction. I have more useless car knowledge in my head than I do info pertaining to my career.

Your car seems fine. Up the boost!
