Internet Slowness - DDoS Attack on DynDNS

Big DDoS going on today causing slowness on the internet and major sites like Twitter, Etsy, and Pinterest. Was on this morning, slowed a bit and is now back causing issues.

Keep buying wifi enabled things from China and plugging them into the internet. The largest DDoS attack this year size has essentially doubled and breaks over 1Tbps which is insane. For this not aware of the size, essentially about 30 blu-rays worth of data per second.

We do tons of IoT assessments now things are a mess

Maybe its the start of a cyber war!

Etsy & Pinterest? Chicks all over the east coast are sobbing over their pumpkin spice lattes.

Pretty much this

lol @ internet broom!

I can’t believe my mom hasn’t called me yet asking what’s wrong with her computer.

Change those damn default passwords. Maybe I should edit my host file to reflect EVERY site I visit, just incase of an IoT war.

Everything normal all day on the West Coast.

That is the issue. The devices use telnet access to them with creds you can’t see in most of the web management platforms. You log in, change the username/password like a good little person and then the telnet/ssh access to it still uses default creds coded into the firmware.
