internet speed sucks

so ive done enough diagnostics here and just need help keepin my internet settings from changing. got tw 15mb internet with a linksys e1000. everything works like ps3, phones, and my buddies mac. my pc for some reason runs slow as shit after like 10 minutes of use. i do the speak easy bandwidth test and it only registers under 1 mb/sec. the only way it works fast is if i use the microsoft ip rest thing or reset all my ip settings through cmd then reboot, and itll work for another 10 minutes and repeat. I dont know what it keeps reverting/optimizing itself for but its gettin annoying. Any suggestions? Thanks nerds.

Run the speed test directly off the modem

i did that before as well and it was still giving me slow speed. really the only time it works at the right speed is when i reset the ip settings. and even then its only for a few minutes before it reverts back to retard mode.

reinstall nic drivers, if that fails buy a new nic, then you know if its software after that.

Reinstalled the software for my 5300 and it worked gooood. Simple enough fix. God Im dumb. Thanks lol

I ran the test just one floor away from the router, about a room over. Thoughts on this. I’ll plug directly in and see what I come up with.

What speed package are you on, modem/router combo, apt complex or house?

I was just looking at TW site my internet now is 30 - 1 but only getting about 16 down. And I was looking at new packages and they are only 3 down and have to pay a bunch to get more. WTF is up with that theyre just cutting back the internet super hard all of a sudden.

It’s most likely nothing to do with TWC and something shitty in your setup.

I would have checked the NIC card for Speed duplex. I’ve seen some get hard set on like 100 full or 100 half.

Agreed. I reran the test and did a direct hook up to the modem. I got a 10mb download and 1 or 2 upload. I need to get my hands on some new Ethernet cable. I think one of the lines was messed up. Also wanted to check for new firm ware for the router, but cant remember my username for it. lol I know the PW… Could this also be a situation causing me problems… updates for the router?
