Hi Iām Dominic, Iām a new NEO member. I decided to register here as well, for contact purposes. Iām sure Iāll get to know a few of you real soon seeing as summer is right around the corner. I got two 240ās
a 90 hatchback and a 95 LE. Iām getting a S13 blacktop put in my 95 real soon. So anyone who has a COMPLETE intercooler kit and rad to get rid of let me know ASAP!
Thanks
Dom
Welcome, but why S13 Blacktop over S14 Blacktop?
well I dont have a 240, I have a turbochageed mustang drag car. I am interested in drifting and the 240 is one of the best balanced cars for the job. It lacks power, but I can fix that
Anyways, nice to meet you all.
Howdee all Terry here from Ireland Drive a 200sx S14 or what you class as the 240sx SR2ODET. New to the drifting scence but willing to learn quickly
Hey,
Welcome aboard! I think your the first person from Ireland on these boards
Did your cars get the CA18DETās too? Like some of the other countries that got the 200sx with the SR or CA in them?
Andrew.
hi guysā¦
I am here to learnā¦rather than giving out suggestionsā¦
I am a real NOOB to cars, to 240SXā¦to everything auto relatedā¦I am getting my G2 soon (yes, i havent got my G2 yet)ā¦
I guess I am the only one who doesnāt have a valid drivers liscence hereā¦throughout researches etc, i found myself landing on the 240SX as my first carā¦I am talking to a fd who has a red '89 240SX w/o moon roof, broken power steering, need to fix windshield, needs new batt, 240 k on itā¦(engine rebuilt at 180k) ā¦
soā¦
before i start any postsā¦just a few questions to start off:
any insurance reccomendations?
any reccomendations on fixing the windshield?
how much should i be looking on the car with the description above?
is the 240 a good starter car?
ā¦i guess usual noobs questionsā¦wanna learn everything from the base upā¦
I am not going to do any swaps as far as I knowā¦i wanna polish up my skills and knowledge before i do anything hardcoreā¦nice to meet yāall
Welcome aboard bud.
240sx was my first car and its a great car to learn on. I was in your position not too long ago. No G2 want a car etc.
That car you speak of prob needs alot of work, but it can all be fixed. Windsheild, I would go to local autoglass place and get it replaced. Power steering can be trouble shot later on.
Insurance wise, plan to pay upwards of 5Gās per year. Iām 20 and thats about what I would pay for insurance if I was on my own insurance. My best suggestion is to get on you parents insurance.
240sx is fun to drive and learn to drive in. Almost all of my driving experience has come from being behind the wheel of my 240. I think you will enjoy it and learn lots. Parts are cheap for our cars. You can go to the junkyard and get almost anything (Iām a frequent )
Anyways,
Best of luck, and hope you enjoy the boards.
Yours,
Andrew.
Baka. Buy a Civic, lmao.
Ya, the first car I got to call my own was a 240 as well. A nice '89 fastback. And I guess since the car you mentioned would be more of a learning type car for you, I wouldnāt put too much into itā¦ If the cost to repair is more than the cost of the car, either part it out, or do something else.
No you are not the only one without a G2, my bro is one and there is another guy or two I thinkā¦
Insurance is a real bitch if the 240 will be the third vehicle and you the third driver in the family (like mine) I pay $300/month as primary on my dadās beater ('85 Mazda 626)ā¦
oh, and be careful with RWD in the rainā¦ with bald tiresā¦ actually, just be careful with RWD anyway.
sshhhhh
^^
i think we need to get you a blue shmock(sp?)
you can be the official SON greeter.
just like the people at Walmart
 Aight, find me one and Iāll come to a meet with it on.
Hi guys, I would like to introduce myself. Iām 19 from Quebec and looking into getting some information about the 240SX and everything related to it. I found a cheap 240sx near montreal and might be buying it. It come with a sr20det thatās not dropped in yet so hereās my questions:
Is the SR20DET an easy swap, like does it will bolt on in the engine bay with no modification to the engine mount and no need of relocation of anything?
What else Iāll need to buy if I only have the engine + transmission for the swap? ECU + Wiring harness and?!?!
How much is a ECU + wiring harness for a SR20DET Red top?
Howdy gents,
Although Iām not generally a major fan of late model vehicles, a change in career has caused me to acquire a ādaily driverā. So naturally Iāll be picking up a little something that will allow me to meet business responsibilities while still allowing for āspiritedā driving two and fro.
Iāve been a gearhead for longer than I can remember, my main focus has leaned towards traditional rods & kustoms (currently own a ā56 Buick mild custom and am wrenching on a Lakes Modified āTā project). So the natural choice for a ānewā car is the 240 as it is a great platform for modification (that and front engine, rear drive is the only way to go).
Although my technical knowledge is mainly related to older iron, I hope to be able to provide assistance in any way, conversely Iāll be picking your collective brains regarding 240 specific issues.
I think itās great to see a thriving local group and I hope to be a positive addition to the fold.

Sounds like a keeper.
I started posting before this. I didānt have to do this on other boards.Hello. My name is Bruce and I, unfortunately, live in Oshawa, Ontario. I say that only b/c Iāv lived in the city most of my life and thereās not much out here when you compare. Im married and have a 3y old son. I work as a Private Investigator, with insurance cases not cheaters, but my real passion is cars. I drive a, pretty much stock, 1991 240sx f/b but have some big plans for it. Plans I hope will come through for this summer due to some sponsorship that I should know about soon. I enjoy hockey, GO LEAFS GO, drag racing and drifting and the occasual beer. Well in a nut shell thatās me. Have a good one. Easy 8)
