^Isn’t that awful? 98% of those people waiting in lines could have gotten an iPad 2 in an iPad3 box and wouldn’t even know.
no one believes me when I talk about sheeple buying apple products.
You guys who actually love/use/etc their stuff… great. But for every 1 of you there are 50 sheep out there who really have no idea what they are buying or why they need it. And honestly, no one NEEDS an ipad.
Hell, no one NEEDS a cell phone.

Anyways, who got an ipad 3? I might be inclinded to take your slightly used 2 off your hands for the GF…
Anyone who has a small amount of brains knows that people don’t need a $2,000 macbook pro or a 16 core iMac to update Facebook. There is people who enjoy their Macs and use them to the fullest but Apple built a company around making consumer products simple to use and people flock to them. The initial iPod was simple, the phone and iPad has two buttons and a unified navigation interface, and they make and sell one version a year for each of their products.
There is no hidden secret to why Apple is so successful and why they are the new dominating player in the consumer market. If people only bought what they need, we would still be using pay phones and riding bicycles everywhere.
ive got the new one, but will be keeping the 2nd one for testing… check out cowboom.com
good deals there
Looks like the iPad 3 is having some WiFi issues…
I am in a hotel with my laptop and new ipad3. The laptop wifi reception is as strong as it gets, but the iPad only registers a weak signal. Anyone else having similar problems? Any suggestions?
You’re just holding it wrong. Here’s a free iPad bumper though.
It seems to be a router in b/g mixed mode issue which doesn’t just effect iPads. People are saying they can set the router wireless to N only and it fixed it.

Seriously though, I wouldn’t own a mac but to each his own.
So the App store thing is the biggest amount of BS
Watch how large the android market place malware issue becomes it’s already a giant fucking issue and over the next couple years will get out of control.
I think we found a bigger apple hater than me!
And UGHHHHH android market causes me SO MANY HEADACHES
That seems like a typical apple response. “Our product is fine, you just have to A)Buy a N router or B)Manually set your router to N” which may or may not cause your other devices to stop working on wireless. I wish Apple would for once admit there was a problem. I think since Apple has such a small focus on what they make, consumers hold them to a higher standard, not to mention the price.
On the Play market, I think it will become a lot like Windows. Stay away from the shady/shitty apps and you won’t have a problem. I’ve never encountered an issue that I can recall.
Most graphic people who use Mac’s have no idea how a computer works. They buy them for the simplicity which is what Apple is built on. Yes, you can build a system yourself but again, Apple is aimed at consumers who have no knowledge and just want something that they can edit video on. That is a small percentage of users who actually require the beefy systems. Most Apple owners can getaway with a $250 netbook for the amount they use their computer.
You realize how silly that is? Like Apple built a device and didn’t test WiFi on it and its radios on it? If you get bored, read how WiFi communications work including power saving, channelization, and the differences between each of the spectrums. You will see how that can cause issues and how each vendor does somethings differently.
btw I still haven’t found anything comparable to my Macbook Air for speed/price/size/weight/performance
Every single Apple discussion that has ever occurred on the internet always turns into a flame war. I just can’t understand why. Why do Windows users always get so pissed off by people that prefer macs? I just don’t get it.
If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Some people much prefer them for legitmate reasons.
Graphic design people are usually after the amazing displays. Try comparing the display on the macbook/imac/cinema display to the standard dell monitor that comes packages with your $400 computer and you will instantly see a massive advantage. When you’re doing design/photography work, you NEED to be seeing proper colors in the best quality. Now, that’s not to say that Apple makes the only good monitor, but you’ve got to upgrade from the standard monitor on most machines to match it. For a Dell monitor that is top of the line, I think they start around $250. So at that point, the price differences start to become negligible.
Judging by OSX 10.7, I’m not sure how well they test. All I was saying was it’s not practical for an everyday user to either upgrade their networking equipment or change channels/modes for their $600 device to work well on WiFi. It should be open the box, and connect…most users probably don’t even know how to enter their WEP/WPA key for their own router. I will give Apple credit in the “Idiot Proofing” department for the most part. OSX and iOS are easy to navigate and require very little computer knowledge to operate. As you said in response to Random, people are buying the Apple name and because (unknowingly) it works better than Windows for people who are computer illiterate.
I’ve run into a gamut of WiFi issues from Power options, to physically disconnected cards in laptops, and even found a BIOS setting in one that completely disables and removes the WiFi card when plugged into a LAN connection.
This is why I switched to Mac. That and XCode. The ultrabooks looked pretty cool tho but from what I saw, they are priced just like a MacBook Air.
If you don’t like what I like, you are wrong.
I am not talking about help desk issues with the settings. I am talking about the actual 802.11 spec and how it handles things such as over the air modulation.
They will fix the wifi issue.
How many other devices on the market come out and are riddled with bugs? Android bug lists are very long, so don’t kid yourself like Apple is the only ones. Motorola android devices were terribly buggy last year. Even the Galaxy Nexus has its share of issues, and it’s been many months since the release with no updates.
