Iphone needs fixing! Help!

I have an old 2g Iphone, well i believe it is a 2g, it has the metal case and the slow EDGE Network. Basically the phone itself is in great shape, i dropped it only 2 times, but worked fine until today.

Problem: A small area of the screen seems to not work for me any more, like by “touch”. The screen visually looks fine displays everything just fine, but say when i go to send a text message or do anything involveing typing, from the Delete button all the way to the left of screen do not work, the space button works, but like i said basically just the area of the one row of keys do not work any more… is there a way to fix it? Or im going to buy a used iphone… plz help!

Is that part of the screen clean?
I know if my finger is wet or anything it won’t pick it up.
so try cleaning off the screen, might be as simple as that.

Did you power cycle the phone? My 3g starts acting retarded after awhile and needs a reboot from time to time.

U need a new logic board. Get one off eBay with a new glass. Shouldent be more than $50 look at videos on YouTube and replace it yourself

yeah you need a new digitizer, same thing happened to me twice and it ended up the part cost more that the phone so i bought a 3g.

iphones suck why bother, buy a nokia either the 5800 xpressmusic or the n97 they make the iphone look bad.

I might just upgrade to 3g, but i do have an open contract, and i heard that verizon was getting sim cards, i can get a discount with verizon through work so i dont know what to do just yet, but it sucks paying almost $100 a month with the slow edge network.

Verizon world phones have sim card slots but you won’t be able to connect to EVDO rev A with them

Well, should i just find another iphone, or does verizon have a phone worth signing a contract with?

Any blackberry, you won’t have as many apps to use but i love my storm since the OS update and the storm 2 looks even better.
