Is anyone familiar with this case? (Where a girl died from E @ a concert)

I’m just looking for unbiased opinions on the subject. If you are unfamiliar read the article and I can fill you in on the rest.

I heard of this case…

I am familiar with it now… what is it you want an opinion on?

her friends watched her die… the dude sold her something that killed her…

the question is, whats up with the other 2 pills… is it expected that her friends took them and are alright?

did the girl take all 3?

if the law states that drug dealers should be held accountable then he should be on trial, but it ultimately comes down to not being a stupid ass and taking drugs. Manslaughter is what he should get.

each girl took 1. There was 3 girls involved. Greg met 2 of them to do the deal (the 2 that lived) and they all got together and went to the concert. He never even met Brandi (the one that died). Her friends AND HER FRIENDS MOM just watched her die.

I just think the murder charges are totally bogus.

I wouldn’t hold him accountable for anything but drug dealing. It’s the girls dumb-ass fault for taking the drugs in the first place, and her friend’s fault for not thinking something was wrong.

i think the same way, i’m just being realistic. you got two sides, some want murder some want nothing, manslaughter seems like a compromise.

agreed… the kid should get it for selling E… the girls should get it for buying E and assuming the girl was over 18 that’s that… if not, the friends mom should get it for being a fucktard.

That guy should be charged because the girl died as a result of his criminal activity. If him and a friend robbed a store and his friend got killed by the store clerk or the police, he would likely be charged with manslaughter or murder. This is the same thing.

Legal knows the law!!! thats was my lame attempt at a joke.

werd. It would be like convicting a car dealer of manslaughter because he sold a Corvette to a 16 year old kid who then wrapped it around a tree. Its not his fault the girl had a bad reaction, and its not his fault they didnt take her to a damn hospital. Murder is retarded, I could see him getting charged for involuntary manslaughter MAYBE. Its just a case of a DA trying to make a name for himself. Whenever a kid dies like that, people are pissed and want to see someone nailed to the wall for it. Normally, they dont give a fuck who, just as long as its someone.

yeah, pretty similar. Selling 3 ecstacy pills to a girl, who then takes the pill and gives it to a friend, who then has a bad reaction, and the people around her do not get her any medical attention at all, and holding up a liquor store at gunpoint. Pretty much the same thing.

definitely… i have a good amount of experience with this drug. by far this is one of the most dangerous drug i have ever researched. first off, every pill is different, every kind of pill is cut with something different. its not rare to hear the 1 in 5 pills is a bad roll. thats just the way it goes. each person is different, you can dehydrate your body and cause you heart to stop functioning and your brain to just stop working. most likely she died of dehydration, it was definitely dumb of her friends and friends mom. she bought the drugs, she was the one that played. its her fault. she should have researched the drug better

werd. ive only really fucked with E once. But you can bet your ass i read up about it on Erowid for about a month before I even thought of it. And if I died because of it, I sure as shit wouldnt want the kid that sold it to me to be charged in my death. People need to be responsible for themselves.

Was selling the drugs a crime? Did the girl die because of the drugs he sold her? I wouldn’t say that is murder, but he is partly responsible for her death.

yes, yes, no

She is a fucking moron for doing drugs and it is 100% her fault and noone else’s.

Was selling the drugs a crime? Yes

Did the girl die because of the drugs he sold her? No.

She died because she had an allergic reaction to it and was denied medical attentnion. It could have just as well been asprin. Its wasnt like a heroin OD or something like that. The drug didnt kill her, her reaction to it did. Not to mention the fact that SHE was the one that decided to take it. Now, if he got her drunk and made her take it, or forced her to take it or something like thatm I could understand. But the responsibility of the girls death is 100% her own fault. She knew the risks and did it anyways. And if she didnt know the risks, then she is retarded for taking an illegal drug that she doesnt even know anything about. Either way, it was her decision to take it.

He didn’t even sell it to Brandi, he sold it to her friend! He is the 3rd down in the chain. Like the article says, the other girl is getting overlooked for the charges because she ratted. She is more directly responsible for her death than Greg is!! Or, if you want to take into account the fact that she was 17 at the time, her mother was also to blame for her death as she never called for medical attention. Granted, she was told it was from being incredibly drunk. Even in that case when she is lying motionless for hours medical attention would still be required. Even if she was just drunk.

So in case you guys have not caught on yet, Greg is my best friend. He is a great person and is no way a drug dealing loser. He was doing these girls a favor (in his eyes) when she kept asking him for pills. It was actually a few days of nagging before he agreed. Talk about fuckin stupid luck. His trial is coming up real soon and the tension’s building.

:frowning: sorry to hear that…

Like someone else said, involuntary manslaughter is probably a more likely verdict, if it even goes that far. It is more the fault of the girls and parent for not thinking to call the hospital. And I’d bet that the reason they didn’t call the ambulance is because they were afraid of what would happen if the hospital found out the girl was on E.
