But fortunately not that bloated by todays standards. While 2000 is nice and stable, there really is no reason to use 2000 anymore. Given how any computer made in the past several years can run XP to a reasonable extent.
Really XP is more like an M&M, it’s a candy coated shell with more useful features. But deep down it’s still the 2000 chocolate you love.
XP is really like a usable version of 2000, since most software works. If you’re anything like me, just turn everything off when you get it running…I like my windows computers to be super bare bones with no bullshit…“classic” mode or whatever plus all the cool looking shit turned off.
Unrelated note: I bought a second laptop for work a few months ago (and some play since CS doesn’t work on mac too great) and it came with Vista. Worst OS ever, took me 3-4 hours to find drivers for XP though…most of the shit was so new they didn’t have XP drivers out…ended up only losing bluetooth after hours of trying to force drivers to work though. Pain in the ASS!
microsoft is also going to be discontinuing the sales of windows xp in order to force everyone to upgrade to vista which has been a huge failure compared to xp. it doesnt run as fast, it has really retarded features and dumb things that shouldnt have changed from xp. regardless i still like it and will get used to it.
who the hell runs windows 2000?
i would just buy a new computer for 500$ with xp or vista or w/e from circuit city, plus they will come out to your house and set everything up and show you how to use your new computer and set up internet for a small fee
