i was wondering if anyone has ever heard of them and if there any good or not?
its a IHI Turbo.
UMMM… before you buy anything, you should explain what you’re planning on doing…
im looking to fab up a new turbo kit for my car.
It’s not about whether the turbo is ‘good’ or not. It is about whether or not the turbo is right for your engine. It needs to be properly sized.
i know it needs to be the correct size and what not, im just curious if its good brand of turbo.
i dont know alot about it, theres a girl on my other forum selling it cause her bf cheated on her and stole her shit, so he went to jail, and she is selling his stuff now lol.
so im picking this up for $80.
I’m slightly concerned that you intend to undertake this task yet have never heard of IHI turbo… they’re an OEM manufacturer (Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries - ok I had to google that)… that’s probably an STI or WRX VF series turbocharger…
i googled it also and found that lol. but thats all i could get haha.
What frame size is it? Check the hotside for cracks the initiate near the WG.
Depending on the frame size and whether or not it’s cracked, 80 dollars would be a good deal…

Every once in a while you’ll hear about some broad selling off her cheating mans toys. I’m not sure how true it is but I remember hearing a story of a nice car (couldn’t tell you what) being sold for next to nothing out of the wifes spite.
That is a stock location Subaru turbo you linked to. It looks like it could be a stock VF39 or VF43 from an STI.
Here is a pic of my stock VF39 that came out of my STI. The difference between the VF39 and the VF43 is negligible. I believe there were only minor changes to the waste gate, but are essentially the same turbo.
Edit: it should tell you what turbo it is where the zip tie is pointing. It is hard to read on mine, but it says VF39

how much refabing of the factory turbo system do u plan on doing…if i am correct in assuming this is a factory turbo car.

Sounds like you want to fabricate a turbo on my car 
If the fab work is cheap, spend the extra money on the exact tubo you desire.
Don’t fab around a “deal” of a turbo.
No sure what your knowledge level is for boost stuff, but “maximum boost” is a good read.
I would have lent you my copy, but I already lent it to a kid that traded my turbo for his N2O a few years back.
